I don’t arena, but I have to fight arena geared premades??? I can only get 120 Conquest a day! This is the crap that killed retail Cata!
Why are we allowing Arena players that are supposedly superior fight lower geared players with superior skill and gear? Where is the fun in this… I am subscribed to be Fodder?

well the more you lose the lower your mmr is going to be. Did you at least farm honor gear first?
Yea, I am and have been full honor geared for months and months, I cannot even use anything as I sit with 4000 honor capped! I am over 50 and just like doing heroics and farming professions and bgs…
But now everyone is arena geared, queing as 5+ mans and I am supposed to try and defeat them with my lesser gear?
Since when is this normal, you don’t see people racing their 1987 Chevet against formula race cars!
If these players are indeed better why do they need the crutch of superior gear and weapons?
i see your point but just try out some 2v2, points rain from the sky. You literally have full purples after a couple hours. You even get points for losing a match.
In the past 2 classic expansions it was one piece per week if you’re lucky
This is quite literally the easiest getting the good pvp gear has been for all of classic. You can get fully geared in a couple of hours at this point just losing in 2’s. The cap is so high at this point you can buy everything including a the full suite of weapons for swaps (2h, 1h, shield).
Time to start.
BGs are for honor gear.
Arena / RBG is for epics.
Don’t have to take it too seriously and you will be alright.
That’s not the peoples fault who do fight in arena. You can’t punish them simply because you don’t do something.
Premades are very rare from what I see. I do see a ton of fully geared pvp players in BGs though. I know I am in there alot on my fully geared toons getting achievements and what not.
No it’s not. Lack of content killed retail cata. Well that and going from an easy mode game to a bit “harder” game. “Original Cata not the limp noodle cata we have now”, was rough on casuals so they quit.
Like I said before, you can’t punish other people because they geared their characters up. This is an MMO, you’re not the main character, the world and game does not revolve around just you.
Not sure how to answer the fun part. The game is super easy to gear in, if you think not having gear is what’s holding you back in pvp, then simply do 2s and get gear.
As far as the fodder part… well yeah if you’re not good at pvp you’re gonna get stomped on.
You can… just do 2s. You don’t even have to win them. It’s easy.
I’ve been running BG’s all day for achievements and I’ve only seen 1 or 2 legit premades. Just because a lot of people from the same server are in the game, does not mean it’s a premade.
On a side note. You give me 10k gold on Bene so I can start some alts over there with a bit of bankroll, I’ll Q with you on my druid and carry you to a full set of pvp gear tonight

Join some RBG groups that are labelled as YOLO or afk. Each Loss is 225 conquest and you might run into other AFK groups to sneak in a few wins. You can easily get glad geared in a single day.
Yeah, I hear you. I think you’re hitting on a fundamental issue of game design with regard linear gear progression, which is core to most MMOs but not all, and other genres as well. MMOs can be where this is felt the most because the nature of them is such that consistent participation is expected. The most basic reason that you are experiencing this is because you likely either started the season late, or you’re gearing an alt.
From your post it isn’t clear to me whether or not you do any rated content at all, or just not arena. Conquest gear as you know is a reward for organized and competitive play, yet some token allowance is given from doing random battlegrounds where the stakes are much lower, i.e. you don’t losing rating, to encourage you to step into rated play, where the highest level rewards are of course handed out more quickly so that you can be competitive in that content.
It’s always possible to form your own groups to combat the disorganization of pugs, and I think most folks would encourage you to do so. And it’s important to remember, that the people that are making you fodder have, in a sense paid their dues. To your point about being able to buy conquest gear, I’m assuming here you mean being rewarded more or a similar amount of conquest by doing random battlegrounds, I think that’s a very bad idea, given that it not only violates very basic social contracts of merit based rewards, it also would generally speaking, upset the gearing or item level ecosphere. At any rate, I understand where you’re coming from, we tend to always want more for less investment, even if it’s not in the game’s best interest.
Better start that arena grind
Yeah they have destroyed all incentive for casual pvp, honor cap at 4k and junk gear, once you get it why the hell would you go back?

Really easy to fix. You just find 1 person and queue and you’ll get points even if you never win. Zero reason to make this complaint thread.

Battlegrounds in WoW are amazing when it’s evenly matched. But as soon as people start premising and stacking their team with fully geared guys in voicecomm… It’s just gross.
Players should also be able to farm conquest easily in normal battlegrounds… Because finding an arena partner is really hard for most people.
WoW needs solo queue BG and arena.

Why cannot I buy Valor gear?? Every normal dungeon today drops normal gear and no valor…
The change allowing me to trade Valor for CP is remarkable! Whoever made this change I salute you!

It was like this in OG cata. I don’t remember the phase that it came out on… I think this one… So I doubt it’s a mistake.
