Can't believe Blizzard is taking the WAR out of WARCRAFT

They are probably just tired of trying to encourage pvp in this game. From PvP servers, to PvP zone objectives, to bgs, to rated content, ashran/ wintergrasp and warmode to tying important rewards like essences to pvp, they have tried.

And despite all their effort, its readily apparent that the average player doesn’t want pvp. Like this hunter above me, pet battles and hello kitty adventure are more what they are interested in.

Why do people assume that there is no such thing as war beyond the faction war?

We did just finish an all out war against the Burning Legion.

How often do we see the world? We see this expansion’s zones.

The game is down to being ______ of __________ now.

Just wanted to point out warcraft is one word.

Also if your not seeing the current superfriend pact as shakey at best…your not paying attention to loose cannon she nelf…

Thing gonna get fun with 8.3 imo

Free-For-All PvP mode, just saying.

Plus, Warcraft doesn’t just mean Alliance vs Horde, but them vs bad guys as well, since the world is constantly in war for whatever contrived reason. And i do mean contrived.

Also, how is anything you’ve listed is considered peaceful? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

As long as I am offered 42g and 250 rep I will be ready to kill in the name of whomever.

It’s just going the way of how things are nowadays. They’re competing against the mobile games, stuff like Destiny and Call of Duty. It’s all pick up and play, solo or group.

Then don’t believe it.

Give peace a chance!!

The players should never be forced into bad gameplay and impacts to their enjoyment due to bad writing decisions.

There will be plenty of war and baddies to fight. It needs to no longer be forced and contrived when Blizzard can’t remove factions due to screwing their players.

everyone is horde the alliance are around for story…lol.

I can not only imagine it, I would greatly prefer it… to a point. Some people are super into the whole lore thing, to me it’s just a bunch of blah, blah, blah I have to click through to get my next objective. Therefore, to me, Horde players were just half the game’s population I was prevented from ever playing with.

Since I don’t PvP in any RPG, not only couldn’t I ever play with any Horde players, I could never even interact with them. Horde players to me are less important than NPCs, with the rare exception that they occasionally come in handy when fighting certain rares in the open world.

Can’t talk to them. Can’t play with them. Have no desire to play against them. They basically don’t exist in my world.

If/when Horde and Alliance reach an accord allowing Horde and Alliance players to group, then for the first time Horde players will actually exist to me.

Except THIS game is called World of Warcraft. World even comes before war. They are completely different games. They aren’t taking “the war out of Warcraft” because this isn’t Warcraft RTS.

I say end this stupid and pointless faction war. We generally band together to beat the big baddie at the end of each expansion anyway. Make the story different and hopefully better by not having to conform to the same old predicable faction conflict every single expansion.

Plus, let’s be honest here. Raiding could really benefit from cross-faction availability.

It’s Blizzard’s IP. Honestly they can put their IP on any trajectory they choose. Honestly I’m tired of Blizzard both catering and ignoring playerbase comments. Just pick one and roll with it.

If people don’t like it they’ll leave. If people like it they’ll stay or come back. Really though does it matter, pretty sure a lot of the money made is from the store anyhow.

I think it is more civil war and tricky alliances. A lot of mercenary stuff coming. I wouldn’t call it peacecraft.

They should put all encounters in an open PVP world then instead of instances. I don’t think SoloCraft would bother me if that was the case. Run around all day and night solo but at your own risk. Now that would be pretty exciting to log into everyday.

I don’t see this being the case at all. Horde and Alliance are not required for war to happen.

The next war will be between the living (united Horde+Alliance, Guardians of Azeroth faction) vs the unliving (Sylvanas’ new Scourge).

World of PeaceCraft began in WarCraft 3 when everyone teamed up to take down the Legion. World of WarCraft was dead before it even went live.

Peace between the factions makes a lot more sense than war at this point. Sure, at one time the faction war made a ton of sense, in fact they could probably somehow have it make sense again. Not with these writers though. Bfa had the worst excuse for a faction war in the game/franchise so far, and they thought it was big enough to deserve the “fourth war” label. It was a joke.

The characters were written to be completely stupid in order to piece together a story that didn’t work.

Tbh, the faction war has always been a minor role in the story. Ever since Cthun, the factions have have been working together, really.

Cthun
Kil’Jaden
Arthas
Deathwing
Garrosh (arguably? He was Horde, but…kinda his own thing?)
Archimonde
Argus
Nzoth probably, even if not then Azshara.

BFA was kinda the most “faction war” we had, and even that fell by the wayside.
