I am getting messages saying “Can’t attack while pacified” “Can’t do that while silenced” when I try to attack or use spells, resetting user UI and scan/repair didn’t help. I don’t have any addons or macros. I can’t talk to battle pet trainer or join arena skirmish. But being in Ragefire Caverns I can attack and use spells like normal.
Sounds like you may have a buff/debuff that is being removed in instanced content.
Take off your armor, fly high, and dismount or use some other method to die.
Death usually removes lingering buffs/debuff.
Have you gone to capital and talked to the big dude yet?
After the big fight , you port back and do a quest where you forge your weapon. Then … You take the port to the city. They throw stuff at you till you talk to him.
