Can't Access Chromie Time

I don’t know if this is a bug or is working as unfortunately intended; however, upon creating a new character and completing Exile’s Reach, I cannot gain access to Chromie Time.

I have looked up dozens of posts on this same topic through these forums and through Reddit, but I cannot find a solution through the many suggestions listed in those posts. At this point, I’ve spent so much time trying to figure this out, I could have already leveled the character to level 10 again and just skipped the tour and be done with it. But at this point, I’m determined to figure out what went wrong and hopefully shed some light on this very frustrating problem.

Upon arriving to Stormwind, I wasn’t paying attention to the quest dialogue and ended up getting sucked into the Stormwind tour instead of saying I wanted to skip it as I normally do. I couldn’t find anyway to get out of the tour, so I just went through with it. After setting my hearthstone to the Inn per the tour quest, I was directed to Stormwind Keep to begin the BFA storyline. I didn’t want to play through BFA, so I went to Chromie to try and get out of this, but she wouldn’t give me the option and insisted that I complete the BFA introduction quest.

Reluctantly, I went through with the BFA introduction. But this is where I feel like a grave mistake was made: I took the option to skip the introduction quest in the jail cell with Quinn, and I took the option to go straight to Boralus. From there, I completed the quests all the way to the point where I unlocked the portal room and I received the character achievement “Come Sail Away!”.

I figured I would be good from this point as most of the other forum posts I’ve seen about this issue advise that this is all that has to be completed to allow Chromie to offer you Chromie Time. So, I took the portal back to Stormwind and looked at my map: low & behold, there is no Chromie hourglass pin listed on the map. I decide to go talk to her anyway to see if she gives me the option, but she does not. Instead, she tells me I need to go meet with the King and finish up my duties or something to that effect.

I make my way back to Stormwind Keep just to see if there’s anything I missed, but the King isn’t even in the Keep, Turaylon is. I speak to him and he offers me no help. I explore the remainder of the Keep to see if there is anyone else I can speak to, to get offered some sort of dialogue option for me to get on the right path. Couldn’t find anything. I then made my way back to the Stormwind gates, ran through to Elwynn Forest and got a dialogue box advising me that I was about to leave the tutorial. Great! I pick the option to leave the tutorial and make my way back to Chromie. Still no Chromie Time.

At this point, I’m noticing many other posts advise to ensure that you finish up the introduction quest with Jaina and Quinn before entering Boralus. (as stated earlier - I had taken the option to skip past this). Regardless, I go to Stormwind Harbor to see if by chance Jaina is still there and will let me do the introduction quest. She was not.

From this stage, I decided to start the Legion campaign from the Heroes Call Board, just to see if I began a campaign in that fashion if it would consider me to be in that timeline and subsequently trigger Chromie to give me an option to switch our. I completed my Artifact questline all the way to the point where I unlocked my Class Hall and had the option to pick which zone I wanted to tackle. After this, I went back to Chromie. Still no option to switch and she still says I need to go to the Keep and speak with the King.

After this, I went back to Boralus and completed more quests up until the point where the Tirisgarde Sound questline begins, just to ensure I completed all of the BFA introduction quests that I needed to. After completing this, still no Chromie Time option.

At this stage, I’m at a complete loss. I feel like there was some choice I made along the way that completely disqualified my character from being allowed to use Chromie Time. If that is what happened, I feel that is a very bad design flaw. Sure, it was probably some sort of error on my end for not just skipping the tour in the first place. But the fact that some sort of system exists where you can get a character unintentionally stuck like this is pretty ludicrous in my opinion.

At this point, unless someone out there has figured out a way around this, I’m left with two options: (1) Delete my character and start over. (2) Play through BFA campaign unwillingly or one of the other Heroes Call campaigns without the option of Chromie Time.

Sad that Blizz ignored this. My wife and I both can’t access Chromie and Timewalking on characters that should be eligible based on web research. I do have a mountain tauren that can timewalk though. Very frustrating.

Have you tried the steps outlined here?
