It’s not a pvp item. It’s a heroic track tier shaman helm. I don’t recall if I catalyzed it (from a bag reward for mythics or timewalking raid) or if I got it out of the vault from t8 delves or if it was catalyzed from a delve bounty chest drop.
seems like I should be able to use this item to add a socket.
Sell price on the helm is 1c, which makes me think it’s probably catalyzed rather from the vault
I was able to use a Nerubian Gemweaver on a catalyzed helm a few weeks ago, that’s really strange. Was the helm originally from the event?
Today I encountered the same issue. I have a PVE Hero track set helm that appears greyed out when I click the Nerubian Gemweaver . The sell price is 77g. It may have been catalyzed at some point. It has no other gem slot on it. There should be no reason I couldn’t use it. Have you put in a ticket? I’m wondering if I should do it.
Edit: Put a ticket it. The person or AI just gave me a spiel but no concrete reason why I cant do it (none of the ones mentioned applied to my helm). I responded again asking for concrete reason. They also mentioned if I think that something isn’t working as intended I should put a bug report (yeah like I want my helm to be fixed in 2030). I miss the times when Blizz Custumer support was actually useful. It used to be a pleasure working with them and now I dread it.

My helm vendors for full price. I don’t think it would have been catalyzed from anything since it’s hero rank. I didn’t do any TWing that rewards Hero rank. It was prob from Vault too.

I’m having the same issue. It’s a catalyzed belt I’ve been using for a month or more. It’s halfway upgraded champ piece from PVE. I bought a socket this past vault and now I can’t use the socket.
ran into this today. Used it on my belt, but would love to get it to work on my hero track helmet next time.
I forgot to add my final verdict from the ticket. Adding it here if others came across this issue. It was indeed a time walking helm (it took me 4 tickets and 3 different GMs to get that answer), and you cannot add sockets to timewalking gear (like that makes sense). The bad part is my helm doesn’t state “timewalking” so there was no way of me knowing/ remembering that. I hope this gets changed in a near future because, again, it doesn’t make sense.
This is still broken, I can only put this on my belt, despite having received shoulders/helm from vault.
Boy this bug is aggravating and the customer service response from Game Masters is pathetic.
