I can still post, I see my character’s avatar, but I’m not logged in!
When I try to log in I get logged out if I press on anything.
Am I missing something?

When I cleared my browsing data I appeared offline and my avatar was not there. All good. So I logged on. Then I selected this character to post on and I’m back to square one now. I’m automatically logged off, but it’s as if I was stills logged on. And if I do log on I get logged off at the first click of a button. It’s just weird. I can still post while logged off.
I did enable Firefox notifications for this website ( my mistake), so I wonder if that’s not related.
I discovered that whichever was the last character you played when you log out of the game, that is the character you will be posting on when you log in to the forums. And yes if you want to switch posting toons then you’ll be logged out.
So my workaround is to log out of the game on whomever I want to be posting with on the forums.
Blizz is aware there’s a problem and are looking into fixing it.
I had the same issue. Didn’t matter the browser or if it was on a PC or my phone. What fixed it was to actually log into my forum posting character. I hadn’t logged into that character since the switch. Afte I did that the ‘logged out’ issue was fixed. If I log out of the forums and back in, it still changes to whichever character I was playing last.
I am also having problems with staying logged in. I have to disable my addons in Chrome for ads and scripts just to LOG IN to the website… I can use Firefox and get the nice little page asking me to check my authenticator…
