Cannot sell unused heirloom token back even though two hours has not lapsed

Bought a bunch of tokens to upgrade some gear for alts. I logged into an alt to gear it up, came back and noticed I still had a token in my bags, but the vendor will not buy it back even though I’m supposed to have two hours to sell it back.

What’s the deal here?

Did you mail the token to the alt?

@mairek asks a valid question. Once a token is mailed it’s no longer refundable.
