I am still not able to access all of my characters, so I have been going back and forth with GMs in the ticket system, I finally got a confirmation response for the confirmation that the fix is in the hands of the devs. This is the redacted conversation that has been had in the last day with different GMs, I don’t want to get them into trouble if it was the quiet part.

This issue is still not resolved, unless blizz is ok with people not being able to use half of their characters that they have dumped time and energy into. I am still receiving the same error codes when connecting to tichondrious or illidan, but whisperwind and madoran are usable.
I do not find it to be acceptable to not be able to use half of my toons, losing progression on any of the characters on the effected realms, and for blizzard to not be willing to fix what they broke… is, again not acceptable.
From what I can gather on the forums, it would seem like the engineers decided that a good fix to the recent DDOS attack was to break the DNS entry, and make a new path, and certificate. I am on one of the smaller ISPs and they seem to take longer to get the new certificate. That means that Blizzard has created the issue that is effecting more players than just myself, and for me and some of the others, even the work around of using a VPN has failed.
I feel that blizz should offer a partial refund for the time that I have not been able to use half of my account… because it is the fault of the engineers, who also will not take different approaches to remedy the DDOS attacks to avoid interruptions to paying customers.
Also I do not feel that it is appropriate for a representative to have closed my previous ticket permanently… and without resolving the issue…

After investigating your issue carefully, we confirmed that the character was a hardcore character, that was confirmed upon creating that hardcore characters when they pass away for any reason cannot be resurrected, Blah, Blah, replied with information that was for an incorrect issue.

you might want to check that ticket again… and actually READ what I have put into the ticket, AND WHERE IT WAS SUBMITTED TO. I have never played on a hardcore realm! I am having a connection issue to some servers, NOT AN OVERALL CONNECTION ISSUE, so the articles that were linked are IRRELEVANT.

I’m sorry to hear that you had to go through this frustrating situation, I’ll recommend that you follow some troubleshooting steps, as it usually sorts out this inconvenience. I understand it may sound basic, or you’ve already followed them, but this is the procedure that we need to follow in that case:
- Restart your computer before doing any other troubleshooting. This can resolve many program conflicts and other temporary issues
- Optimize your internet connection. Your current setup may have issues impacting gameplay
- Lag and disconnections are often caused by outdated or broken addons. If you use any addons, do the following:
- Update any addons that you use
- Try disabling all of your addons. Navigate in-game to Main Menu > Addons > Disable All
- If all else fails, fully reset your user interface (UI)

The issue is NOT on my end, I have gone through these steps several times already WITH NO CHANGE!!! These steps may work if it was a global issue, but it is focused on (in my case) Tichindrious and Illidan. I cannot use characters on those realms (about half of them), while my characters on Madoran ARE NOT EFFECTED). I feel like my quality of life is very bad, and I do not feel like blizzard cares enough to fix the issue that myself and others are having (look at the forums, you will find others commenting in threads about exactly this). The idea in the forums is that blizz changed the DNS certificates for several of the servers, and has created the problem with no way of helping PAYING CUSTOMERS to be able to fix it and make characters playable… Please, if all that you are going to do is give me another canned response, DON’T. Instead, escalate this up the ladder, whatever the next person in the chain is. I feel like it is the engineers and the developers who have created this mess, and that they are probably the ones who will have to fix it. I would like to continue playing those characters… Please help me and others get this fixed so that we might continue enjoying the game.

After reviewing some Information, I can confirm that we have received reports from other players that our Battle.net servers are undergoing some issues and you may experience temporary difficulties accessing your account and games, specially on some specific realms as you mentioned.
As of know we don’t have received any updates about it from the developers but I did saw a post on our forums about this particular discussion here: Cannot seem to log in
Since we don’t have direct contact with the team in charge of resolving these particular issues, we recommend you make your voice heard on our forums to increase visibility about the connection issues. For the moment we are unable to offer further assistance since this is basically developers territory now, but wish you the best getting a hasty resolution on this matter.
