the heroes board doesn’t offer the quest. it seems this is ONLY WAY TO GET IT.
thus i can’t start the quest to do the intro quest. i port into area and all the npcs are fighting. the npc at highbanks wont give me quest. help! have not started bfa.
Check with the NPCs in the throne room. If memory serves, one of them will get you started.

Do you have any other quests for the throne room? Some quests glitch it out so you have to finish them or abandon them.
no i dont have any quests for the throne room…although when i went in there it seemed to auto start the bfa intro quest even thought its NOT IN MY LOG. i dont want to do it. im NOT INTERESTED IN IT AT ALL. i just want to do the intro quests for cata zones so i can unlock tabards and start grinding rep.
There might be phasing issues where multiple old questlines that use the room are competing for which is the “current” version.
You might have to do the BFA intro up to getting the Heart of Azeroth to be sure all the BFA quest hooks are cleared out (but I’m not really confident about this)
if that’s the case cata can just rot then. im not going to touch bfa.

If it’s this character you want to use, you could try talking to Chromie and selecting Cataclysm era timewalking. That might force it into the right version?
can i just talk to chromie and then leave timewalking? im not interesting in doing the chromie campaign. i just want the tabards so i can grind rep.

So if you’re doing it on this toon you’re posting on, yes, the easiest way to get/start the quest would be to go into chromie time to get the quest, start the quest chain, and I guess do until you get a few quests into twilight highlands, then you’ll be able to go back in normal time and finish it up.
selected chromie time cataclysm. still didnt work. throne room is still empty. heroes board doesnt show it either. game refuses to let me decline bfa quest.
Yeah, I wish it didn’t force it. Maybe it won’t force bfa when you hit 60? If you want to risk it?
I’m curious to know if this gets figured out. I had the same problem on an alt.
the horde doesnt have this problem at all because all their quests are done via npcs not wrapped up in bfa…unlike the alliance…how do i get the tabards? i just want the tabards.
