Had lag issues I noticed yesterday. Today, lag was worse until I finally finished a Delve, went back to the city and none of the quest givers/NPCs were around. Trade chat was flying past, like normal. Updated display drivers, rebooted system, reset modem and router, etc. I can log into Battlenet fine, but when I attempt to start WoW (Retail), things just bog down until they freeze. Then tried putting Old after the Interface, Cache, and WTF folders, now when I start WoW, I get the warning about Photosensitivity, and it freezes there. FWIW, I was on Stormrage. Initial error code was BLZ51901016. Seems to be doing the same in Classic. Yeah, did a remove/reinstall on Norton and I thought fixed it, since I got in-game. BUT, as soon as I took the portal to another zone, things froze, the game kicked me, and I can’t get back in… just as before. This time, after long waits at each step, goes to “Logging into game server”, then errors, then “Retrieving character list”, then brings character list, then EVENTALLY (15mins, at least) I got DC’d with Error WOW51900319… May be related to Norton 360 update; when I uninstalled Norton 360 things started working again.
Thanks for following up with the fix. Unfortunately, antivirus suites rarely update as fast as other software.
