Today is day 3 and I’m still completely bugged. Destroyed nearly 300 items in my house chest trying to clear it out in hopes I could learn the handful of cobblestones in my bags.
Now I’ve actually tried to open a ticket but the ticket system in the game is so bugged out I can’t navigate the screen.
I’m frustrated and not sure where else to post this, as bug report forums and the housing community has no answers whatsoever.
Any time I attempt to learn decor, not only am I unable to do it, my character animations lock up, the escape key stops working, and I have to force quit the game.
So what? When I close the game and reopen the game everything is completely fine 100% of the time… Until I try to learn a decor item. That is the ONLY time I am experiencing issues.
You have to stop telling people their PC is the issue when housing has HUGE bugs going on. This is borderline trolling.
Like I stated before: I’ve deleted over 300 items, I’ve console reloaded, I’ve sent items to alts, I’ve tried to learn both items from vendor and crafted items, I’ve vendored the items to a merchant and re-purchased them to try and un-bug it.
Relogging used to work. It no longer works. This is not my PC.
Sometimes when I log in after reset items will “auto learn” for no reason, but some items remain bugged stuck in my bags. Attempting again to learn those obviously bugs me out, but purchasing any new decor from anywhere, any vendor, AH etc causes this to happen.
I’m having the same issue. Idk what Kozzae is smoking. This has been a consistent issue for me literally since housing’s early access release. It is extremely frustrating. Seemingly nothing works to help it. Logging out doesn’t help, putting things in the warband doesn’t help, I am stuck waiting around for several hours at a time to hope that I can learn the decor eventually. There is no rhyme or reason to it. It happens regardless of source. This has happened with neighborhood vendors, AH items, quest rewards, etc. This has been a bug I have encountered nearly every day and it is beyond frustrating and I’m at my wit’s end with it. It’s been months of this now.
I absolutely understood you, you were being obtuse with OP and you’re being obtuse with me now as well. I know very well where to go with my reports and I have done so. The first line of the pinned post in this forum is quite literally “The Technical Support forum is intended to provide a space for World of Warcraft players to discuss and troubleshoot technical issues together.” That is what Skies is doing. Stop being condescending. If you have no intent of helping just don’t post. I have no idea where you got that this could even possibly be a PC issue from. This has nothing to do with GPUs, this is a server-side issue. You are very obviously out of your depth here.
@Skies Potential fix: I am not sure if this works reliably as I only tried it once last night and it was after I had been logged out for 20+ minutes, but I put a piece of decor in my ACTION BAR and then used it and it worked. If you try this, let me know if it works.
When I encounter this bug again I’m going to try this solution without logging out and I’ll report back about 1.) if it works and 2.) if it seems like a reliable fix. I have suspicions that this is either some kind of UI bug or some kind of database error occurring. Regardless, we aren’t the only people encountering this extremely frustrating and pervasive bug.
I got Fungal Pergola from quest reward. Used it. I learned it, but the item did not leave my bag.
The next item I got, Rutaani Sporepod, I cant interact with it at all. Not usable.
The next item I got, Root-Woven Window, will show the animation, but isn’t learned and stays in bag.
I bought a Tauren Leather Fence off the AH. Same thing, it will animate, but isnt learned.
I tried buying items off the neighborhood vendors…the ones that go straight to house inventory…and they aren’t. They’re going into my back and click them does nothing. Luckily I can sell them back for refund.
Swapped characters, bought Tauren Fencepost off AH. I get the animation, but it isn’t learned and stays in my bag.
I have 0 addons running. Have tried action bars. Have relogged multiple times. Restarted WoW multiple times.
Edit - Out of curiosity, I logged on from a different PC, and I was able to use the items. So…it seems related to some file on my main PC. Seems like this may require rebuilding my WTF folder as I’m not sure which file might be the cause.
Edit 2 - Before deleting my WTF, I have the Scan and Repair a shot. Logged in. Bought an item off AH…and I was able to learn it. So…I’m hopeful whatever the cause was, it’s fixed.
Have you tried running the Scan and Repair?
I got decor locked again a couple hours after fixing it. I went and ran that again and I was fixed again. Not sure what keeps causing it to break, but thankfully I seem to have figured out a way to fix it.
Edit - Right after saying that, I got 2 decor items from quest turns in, and am broke again. This is getting ridiculous.
Yeah. I’ve had the bug off and on for quite some time now. My original post was frustration after I had the bug for three days straight. It just wouldn’t go away.
But now even though I’m currently bugged, I was at least able to learn some of the decor in my bags today.
Oh well I guess. These things never seem to get acknowledged, and we’re always told it is on our end (until it isn’t).
Edit: Just another day of not being able to learn decor. 03/01 - have had the bug again for half a day. This morning I could learn items just fine.
