I submit an application to a guild, I get accepted and invited… I click accept, accept and… nothing happens?

It’s possibly a corrupt addon or a corrupt user interface.
First, try disabling all your addons and see if that fixes the issue.
If it doesn’t, you might need to try a Full UI Reset:

Could be a bug or guild is max out on members.
Make sure you don’t have ignore guild invites turned on.
I don’t use addons and the game is freshly installed as of only a week or so ago.

Wouldn’t that preclude me from the very act of ‘getting an invite’ in the first place?
This wasn’t one guild. So far, I’m up to 6 times. Applied. Invited. Accepted. Accepted the dismissal of other applications. Nothing happens.

If it’s a new install, then the UI Reset is an easy first step in ruling out a corrupt UI. I’d do that first.
Also, what happens if you type in chat " /gquit "? Just wondering if the system thinks you’re already a part of a guild. You haven’t opened a charter to start a guild have you?

OK I’ve performed a UI reset and as for gquitting, nothing happens. It just tells me what I already know. I’m not in a guild.
That’s definitely odd.
I can’t think of much else as far as troubleshooting goes unfortunately. Definitely make sure to add a post to the Bug Report forum (or use the in-game bug report feature) to let Blizz know.
You can try posting or moving this post into the CS forum and see if I’m missing/forgetting something here too.

If it’s of any further value, I have always received the invitation whilst I am offline, and obviously accepted it once I’ve come back online.
I don’t know the answer, but maybe the guild finder is showing you cross server guilds you cant join? As an experiment, walk up to somebody in town on your server and ask for an invite and see what happens.

Why can’t I join cross server guilds? If I can’t by design, then why allow me to request an invitation from one with the guild finder?
Is this only happening on one character or multiple?
Idk if it changes anything but I’d be troubleshooting that if it were me.

EDIT - so I logged an alt and I had an invitation to a guild waiting for her. Accepting it and within 2 seconds she was in a guild.
She was a Void Elf. Always has been.
Now my main, is a Dracthyr who - due to the godawful Horde housing island, was FACTION CHANGED a couple weeks ago to own a house on the better island and be able to converse with my neighbors there.
However, I have not known there to be some kind of guild restriction placed on newly faction changed characters so I didn’t mention it.

Also been having this issue since Legion Remix. Some characters get invites and can accept them just fine. Other characters I hit accept and nothing happens. I will note that the ‘Pending’ still retains canceled requests I sent but later decided against. Any help would be appreciated!
You could ask in the Customer Support forum. See if they have any insight or ideas.
