I’ve been unable to interact with NPCs or mailboxes or loot anything in the past 24 hours. I’m able to cast spells and mount up and even queue for dungeons but I can’t open my mailbox or loot or talk to NPCs. I have tried everything from relogging, restarting my pc, and scan and repair and nothing has worked.
I’ve asked many people and no one else is having this issue and I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and if so, if they ever got it resolved. Thank you
Addon interference possibly?
I already disabled all my addons and still nothing. the npcs speak to me, but it doesn’t open up any interactions (turning in quest, auction house, etc)
Remove them from the directory. Disabling removes their visual elements and ability to display real-time info.
Okay, I’ll try that. How do I remove them from directory, sorry haha
Edit: I deleted all my addons and I am still having this problem
Backup stuff first before you follow the above steps. You need to physically drag the folders the above instructions ask you to delete out of the directory, or rename them with .old on their names so they get replaced.
As stated, I already did that and still no solution
Your addon folder is only 1 of 3 that should get renamed to test a default interface.

in fact, i’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled the game and nothing
Cvars are probably the only thing that would persist through a full reinstall. You’ll need to redo most of your settings if you reset them.
my man, i could frickin kiss you. this was it. if you’ve got a moment, do you mind explaining what the issue could have been? idk what a cvar is and i hadn’t done anything differently in game
CVars are client variables stored on the server that control lots of different configurations and aspects of the game’s interface. An addon probably yoinked one of them for some reason or another which could’ve caused the issue.

Most or all of your graphics settings are reset to default. Vsync is defaulted to on which will cap your fps.
The cvar that controls the time by default uses realm time. Right click your clock on the calendar to change it back to local time.

So, my turn to revive this thread. I’m having the same issue as the OP you helped. Thing is, didn’t fix my issue. I play on Classic and thought it was a problem with my ElvUi but I did everything the OP did including fresh installs of everything. No fixes. It worked PERFECTLY 24 hours ago but is a totally useless brick now. Resetting the CVars did nothing for me though, even after a restart. Any idea on what my fresh brand of hell could be?
