Cannot Install WoW

I cannot seem to install a fresh install of WoW, no matter what I do. I even tried on an unused, completely empty/new External Hard Drive, and it does a lot of initializing, before ultimately it pauses, and when you attempt to resume, it pops up with an error, saying something went wrong. It told me a few steps to try, such as rebooting computer and opening firewall etc., all of which I do, and it still occurs, so it told me to contact support. The only thing different about my computer now, in comparison to the last time I played a few months ago, is that I’m now Windows 11. I have also previously deleted all files, all installations of both battle.net launcher, and wow, incase something was corrupted, to no avail. I cannot change to Beta, as there is no option to change to beta in the settings.

My Specs:
2022 Msi GE76 Raider Laptop
RTX3080 w/ 4GB VRAM
12th Gen i7
16GB RAM

Gigabit Internet provided via Frontier via a Hardline
Solid 940 mbps Download, 950 mbps Upload

If you are going to use a usb drive.
It still needs to be Formated NTFS , not Fat like it normally comes stock.

Make a new directory for; “World of Warcraft” to be in on the Root of the Drive.

Like…
D:\WoW\

I bought a PCI x4 edge card and is in my 16x slot.

I use my External for all my gaming. I also tried installing to one of my 2 SSD’s within the computer and its doing the same thing regardless of install location attempt

sorry … home now.
try this…
Redownload or if you can just … select Beta on the Battle.net and let it install just that program.
link at top of forum. for Battle.net for a fresh copy of the program.

once you do that … the battle.net will find all your games, but if you have a 3rd party program … like Curse or some other downloader. they take control of the directory that battle.net is trying to fix. thus, the errors.
If you make a directory … the directory is yours.
Not windows or any other program. do make with Admin .
Also if you have protection or backup software that will also mess with everything.
I’m at 89.2/512 Gb, so I have enough free space.

They say 100 Gb, but they mean 128 Gb size. also need a Windows controlled; Formatted NTFS … clean Page file location. They also recommend on your C: SSD.

I did a test with the usb drive … my C; drive ran 25% more and is 40% slower, my SSD on my 32Gbps at X4 PCIe vs USB 3.1 10Gbps.
temp on drive is freekin hot. 18C. now… so I have a heat sink on the drive.
my C: is a 256 GB SSD plug in Sata drive.
I have Cable … my internet 99.07 Mbps
seams every time I go to play lately … update, so good I have the speed.

Make sure your Windows is Registered and fully 22h2.

My install of windows needed two email addresses, the second one was a constant bug in my … well it wants to in the middle of playing the game and would flash to the desktop and back to the game. went on for a short time. then I read the tooltip. you must do this or else … no windows any longer.

Oh, your internet is DSL … Phone line. I had Frontier…same speed.
Should be fast enough to Pet battle. not much more I am afraid.
Make sure you don’t have a data cap. I had one and I would get more download quota every hour, so I was using the amount up and the download would stop.
an hour later I would get more data and do that and stop. after two days of calling and … oh you have a data cap. you must pay more.
Good luck.

I think it is a Windows 11 Support issue, cuz I grabbed an old laptop, with windows 10, used the same external hard drive, and boom, moved on past initializing, and started installing, but I still have no idea why or what actually causes it. My net is fiber optic, Iran the test and thats where I got those speeds XD.
