Hello!
As the title says, I am unable to fly on any of my characters that are past level 30. When I get on a flying mount in Orgrimmar and press ‘space’, my mount just does its animation or jumps if I am walking.
I am unable to tap the spacebar twice to enable dynamic flight and I do not have the button in my mount journal to switch flying types. The only character I have been able to unlock ‘Steady’ flight on was my lvl 60 Warlock after doing the intro of the Dragonflight expansion. All of my other characters which should be able to fly, cannot at all.
I only recently started playing again after quitting in BFA. I believe this bug has to do with some type of flag not being enabled on my characters that are already past level 30, since flying was still unlocked at 60 when I stopped playing. Any help to resolve this issue (that is beyond playing the intro to Dragonflight a dozen times) would be appreciated!

Look at your cast bar #1 … The number of the bar not the 1 on the keyboard.
The spyro flying is default now.
On a personal note…
I used it for a short amount of time. Did not die this time, but ran out of points to fly. I have read that you can change to regular flying in spell book.

As I said, I do not currently have the ability to do dynamic flight on my Warlock, nor can I fly at all on any of my other characters. 1 on my cast bar is my Chaos Bolt.

I am in the exact same position, can fly when making a mists time walking character and an evoker and play through dragon flight intro, but not on any of my other characters. I also stopped playing during BFA and everything worked like normal before the Pre Patch for The War Within. I’ve attempted pretty much everything suggested online to me and by a GM but nothing has worked. Im sure you’ve already tried this but looking for a dynamic flight option at the top of the mount screen and general tab of your abilities. Also reseting UI, but neither of these things helped in my case.

Yeah, I felt like I was taking crazy pills when everyone kept telling me to click a button in my mount journal that isn’t there lol. I hope this gets figured out soon. I wasn’t sure if things were working normally before the pre-patch or not, so thanks for confirming.

Same boat. never set foot in dragonflight on any toon, so I’ve never had the dragon style flying (whatever it’s called). Cannot fly on any toon, no toggle/spell in mount tab, nor general tab of spellbook

My wife recently came back to the game after quitting during BfA. She is level 47, she never got dragon flying (skyriding). She logged in and now cannot fly at all now. She had maxed out steady flying prior to the patch yesterday. There is no button to switch flight modes on the mount collection panel.
By deduction and reading about people with this problem, it appears that since the patch defaulted all people to skyriding that for those who did not have it, it bugged out and removed all flight ability and the button does not even appear.

Also Stuck, we were leveling through BfA and didn’t have skyriding yet, now none of my mounts can fly! Help!

I have been attempting to work my toons up and have not reached dragonflight, now I also have lost flying capability on all toons.

Same here! Do we have to go to the first Dragonflight zone or something? Would be very silly if that’s the case.

That is what I found worked for me. Upon finishing the Dragonflight intro, my Warlock could use ‘Steady’ flight everywhere again.
I have absolutely no interest in playing the Dragonflight expansion ( stopped purchasing new expansion due to all things Pathfinder) and have many avatars (aprox 35+) that are not even close to ready to enter this zone. I just came back to WOW due to a health issue that restricted physical activity. I will be un-subscribing again if the folks at Blizzzard cannot fix this issue.

I ran into the same problem but here’s the deal. Regular flying which is achieved when you reach level 30 is now called Steady Flying. Go to your Mounts tab, at the top of the menu/screen you will see Skyriding (formerly Dragonriding). Click on Skyriding and a drop down will appear. Click on Switch Flight Style. You should be able to fly now. You will need to do this for each character. Good luck!

the problem people are having, is that this button doesn’t exist if they haven’t done the DF intro
(not sure why they don’t want to do the intro) 
With the maintenance that was done this morning, this issue has now been resolved for all my toons. However, please feel free to post if you are still having issues with flying.
