I have a lvl15 monk in Legion Remix. The game soft froze (I could move but couldn’t interact or use abilities and couldn’t log out or exit game) so i just alt-f4’ed it. Logged back in but now it says “a character with that name already exists” whenever I try to enter world…if i’m lvl15 then I am that character.

Same with my character, its happened twice. First time was right after i entered the world. I made a new character, got to lv 14 shaman and same. Game soft froze, i tried shutting down, waiting a bit, logging back in and now am getting the same “character already exists” message.

Same here. Can’t interact, can’t log off, can’t exit, can’t abandon a quest.

Same, disabled all addons, let me play a little. But now at quest turn in it’s back to soft frozen.

I have zero addons installed on retail but it still happens to me. I created 2 toons already and both of them are currently softlocked because of this. I can’t even play.

Yup, like clockwork. Got my demon hunter to 15, everything locked up, and now getting the error about the name. Thanks, Blizz.
I didn’t even get to level. literally started softlocking on the first quest. pretty disappointing

+1 - soft lock on first quest. Can’t enter. Tried logging into other characters, waiting 30 mins, etc.
Just happened to me. Still level 10 turning in the second quest in Dalaran. Had to alt+f4 to get out of game and can’t get back into my toon.

same here. just finished my 1st quest and soft locked. what the hell…is this remix ready or not?
Happened to me three times now.
Twice on a lemix character and once on a regular character.
Each time was after turning on the stupid cooldown manager in settings.
guess ill just not play the remix for now
I also had just turned on the cooldown manager to test it… I wonder if we found the culprit.
Luckily I am on my main right now and i had it on but no problem happened. Disabling rn lmao. After I finish this delve I’ll be trying to log in again on my remix char.
@edit: Logging in on another character and disabling the cooldown manager fixed it.

Sure enough, logging in on my main and clicking cd manager on then off fixed it for me too. Knew that them attempting to replicate addons would be a nightmare…
