I had originally started the warlock quests for the different pet skins, but I completed them on another character, and only had one of the quests on my log. I forgot about it and went to DMF only to find that the “Midnight at the Faire” buff was still on and there were no NPCs there.
I deleted the quest, hearthed out, came back, but the buff is still up.
Can someone assist with advice as to how to remove this buff and make DMF available again to the character? I have doublke checked my log and there are none of the quests for that activity still there.
The character is Dreade-Caelestrasz btw.
What timezone are you in? The fair ends tonight at 11:59PM (from my calendar), it could be they ended it early.
No, it hasn’t finished yet. It finishes the same time, its just different clock times in other timezones. It will close at 12 midnight US Pacific Time which is 3 1/4 hours away.
Have you tried queuing for a Skirmish? Its track record with other pesky buffs/debuffs is pretty top notch.

No, but I have disabled all add ons, and Im also going to let this toon die, to see if that does anything.
Edit: neither of those things helped.
Disabling wont fix anything if its a corrupted UI u need to do
I know how to reset, I don’t think its anything to do with the UI. Its caught up somehow. I will submit a ticket and see if they can recommend anything.
GMs dont fix bugs the usual solution is to take off all your gear fly as high as u can and dismount or join a arena/bg/skirmish I still stand by my comment on a full UI reset since disabling addons wouldnt fix it if it was a corrupted UI.
Did that, didnt work.
I suppose I can join a skirmish, as long as I can immediately leave, as I dont do that sort of pvp.
I dont get why a corrupted UI would be an issue just for this when it working perfectly for everything else.
Oddly enough a corrupted UI can cause alot of issues they can even affect all toons or a single toon.
I did a browse of wowhead on the particular questline and there was at least one other person commenting that they had the same problem. There was no follow up of how they fixed it, or if they did. I may need to somehow track down the quest I deleted and complete the questline to get it to go away.
this
you’re in the middle of a quest chain.
no amount of killing your character, or queueing for skirmishes or UI resets can change this.

I tried and it appears to be unobtainable. I’ve put in a ticket requesting the quest be reinstated into the character’s questlog so I can do the damned thing.
Unfortunately gms cant reset quest the best option would be to put in a bug report.

do you recall which part of the quest you were up to?
have you checked wowhead comments for guidance?
(this is the alliance version, if you’re doing it on horde you’ll want to search the horde version)

Yes I have, I have found comments on wowhead of people having the same issue, and there are no resolutions suggested.
They have in the past. I’ve put in tickets for quests that were similar to this and they have reset the quest for me. Whether they still do or not, I don’t know but this isn’t just a simple quest issue, its causing me to not be able to access part of the game.
you’re looking at the issue as “i can’t access the faire”.
the issue is, you’re partway through an incomplete quest chain.
but… it is a quest issue.
there are plenty of quests which will phase parts of the world based on where you are in the quest chain.
the reason i gave the wowhead link, is so you can find where you left off, to be able to pick up the quest and continue.

I finally managed to track down the questiver for the final quest and did the fight to complete the questline. Obviously I can’t test it right now as DMF has closed for the month but hopefully the buff will be gone when I next enter DMF.
Just did it!!! Midnight at the Faire “debuff” go towards end go left, use the light up gate, take the Quest when revenge burns Green, “Track it” use your fast flying mount, when get there, the boss will appear, kill him, turn the quest in at that location! done!
