Hello, I’ve had this issue for a few months now, and originally unsubbed because of it. I thought maybe a patch issue was causing it and it would clam down after a few updates.
Issue: after a minute or two in game using mouse to move/click/hover over players or NPC’s, i lose the ability to click or interact with anything. I no longer can spin my screen via mouse/click npcs/close map/etc. Sometimes it highlights a skill area and only seems to click in the area even if that isn’t where my mouse is
I’ve tried
Disabling all addons. (I don’t use many but thought that was the issue
Uninstalling, deleting all folders/addons and reinstalling
running commands like /fstack and /console CursorFreeLookStartDelta 0
changing countless settings
used different mice
changed usb ports
disabled logitec ghub (i use g600)
to no avail
I can record the issue if needed, but i’m sort of at wits end. It’s annoying to re-create sometimes as it doesn’t happen instantly, and i keep thinking i fixed it, just to show up a little while later again, so it’s time consuming.
Are there any other ways i can try to fix this or has anyone else had this issue?
After you deleted the addon folders and settings, did you run the Cvar reset command? It’s on the UI reset page, under advanced.
Beyond that, it could be some overlay on the PC that gets activated. Have you tried closing all background apps, restarting, then playing?
Yes, i have done both (sorry wasn’t mentioned as there has been a long list of things i have tried)
I’ve watched quite a few videos, but none seem to have the exact issue i have, just sort of similar
Did you toggle raw mouse input?
Are you using windowed fullscreen?
How many monitors are in use? Are their settings the same?
I toggled the mouse input, no luck, or seemed like it worked until i pressed W to move
I am using windowed full screen, and only have one screen
Did you try another port? Maybe it’s losing signal?
yes, tried that
really doesnt seem like it stops moving, more so it seems to be stuck in one spot wile i can still move my cursor but it doesn’t do anything
ie: i can hit m to open map, move my cursor around and try to click the x, but it is randomly somewhere else, sometimes clicking map area, or other random things on my screen, almost as it is invisible and elsewhere
Stuck keyboard key/modifier?
Is Windows Ink enabled?
Tried 3 different keyboards, and no Ink
however, i DID find it.
I had 4 friends helping me and one found a comment on a youtube video about a python script interfering with wow, and in my task manger i did find python running 4-6 different things.
I have no idea where it came from, but with some help i ended up getting rid of them and it ended up fixing my issue. I’m mega confused on any of this, but it worked and i’ve resubbed

Glad you found the culprit. Hope it wasn’t malware, so might want to run a scan just in case.
