Part of of the rune game is displaying behind another element in the game so I can’t see the entire board.

Also, because the mini-game has no way to exit out, I can’t try and start it again to see if that helps.

Being in the game is represented by a buff in your buff bar which can be cancelled to exit the game. The buff is called Arcane Runelock and it looks like an arcane rune:
Click that off and you’re out of the game.
