How on earth do you do the candle making workshop event?
I filled the cauldron and started the event by talking with Scally. His “how to” says;
- Fill pot with hot wax. Take from pile (I assume pile of pots) and bring near cauldron.
- Put Wick in pot.
- Cool the pot.
- Pull out candle.
A kobold wanders around with a bunch of pots then eventually puts them down. Ditto one with a bunch of wicks. However, it takes ages for the pots to become interactive. And when they finally are clicking them just puts them on the ground near the stack of pots. It doesn’t seem to take them near the big cauldron. So they never get filled with wax.
The wicks become interactive after awhile, but again. With no filled pots there doesn’t seem to be any way to put wicks in pots. So the whole thing is stalled and no candles are ever completed.
Note: I am trying to solo this, because no one else is on in my neighbourhood at the moment. But that shouldn’t stop you doing the event, just maybe restrict the amount of candles you make.
So, what am I doing wrong? Is it just bugged? Does it NEED more than one player? Is there a good guide/video for the event (I couldn’t find one)?
edit: Gave it another try (again solo) and this time the once the pots became interactive I was actually able to carry them to the cauldron with them on my head. So shrugs I’ll put the first attempt down to a bug where they just weren’t carryable for some reason.

While the Kobolds are bringing the pots and wicks out, you will notice there is a countdown timer to signal the start of the event.
At the start of the event, arrows appear over the pots. Click on a pot to grab it. Wax starts flying out of the cauldron, and you will see circles on the ground. Stand in these circles with your pot to catch the falling wax.
When your pot is filled, move to the pile of wicks which need to be untangled. When you click on the wicks, a little mini game opens where you untangle one of the wicks. Upon successfully completing the mini game, click on the loose wick to add it to your pot. Then you run around with the pot a few seconds until the wax cools and begins to harden.
At the prompt, drop your pot and then click on it. You will be able to grab the wick and hold on to it. Begin walking away to slowly pull the candle out of the pot. Once you pull the candle out, you have successfully created a candle. Now go grab another pot and repeat the process. See how many candles you can make before the timer ends.
Hope this helps! (You can complete it solo or with other players. You will need to create 100 candles during the endeavor to unlock the color curious candle from the vendor which can be dyed).

The event started for us, but there are no arrows or anything that can be clicked on. Must be another buggy event.
Got the event to start, but pots never became interactive, wicks were but couldn’t use them without the pots. Like Cognition stated, no arrows ever showed up, then the event ended, wasted 150 wax, all for zero out of it, no candles, nothing. Bliz needs to work out the bugs super fast or this event will be a complete bust.
I can not even get the event to start.
I filled the chest to 100, and now it just sits there, not doing anything.
You need to fill the giant pot to start the event.

I just found out there is an extra action button, and it wasn’t showing up until I relogged.

Once you fill the pot to 100 you need to go talk to a kobold nearby to start it. Off the top of my head I think his name is Scally.
edit": Fill not kill
My neighborhood has realized that it reset completely after making over 100 candles. Not sure if it’s a bug or intended to reset but the dyeable candle is locked all over again. So prepare for that kind of thing once it’s done.
Hi not sure if this is helpful info for you, but it breaks if you change forms at any point during the event as a druid, if you leave the area a little and walk back out of form you can interact with the pots and fill one again, make sure you stay out of form the whole time tho

I noticed today the pots bugged out on my warlock alt because it was mounted. I wondered if the druid had a similar problem because I was in travel form, or maybe flight form when I started it the first couple times.
