Candle Confidant and me

so everytime I sim my character candle confidant seems to beat out most of the trinkets i have including some good ones like unbound changeling and haste + on proc int trinkets

Looking at my logs Wayne which I assume is the candle confidant add, did about 2.2% of my damage and also there is another spell named take, and light up which did about 0.6% and 0.7% each. So in total in a mythic + dungeon it did little above 3% of my damage.

My question is, is this trinket really that good or am i missing something here?

the sim assumes you are in melee range whenever the trinket procs

How many targets are you simming for? Single target it’s a pretty darn good trinket. But each subsequent target reduces the overall value of the trinket (since as far as I’m aware, all or most of the summons’ abilities are single target). The only part of the trinket that really scales with additional targets is the baseline int.

In an m+, I would expect other trinkets (like unbound changeling) to pull ahead, especially as item level increases.

It’s been a mixed bag for me. I like it because it’s cute. Sometimes it’s great. If I can ever get something better, I’ll drop it. But I wouldn’t take it over an equal level changeling or brood.

I don’t think its very good, it gives no secondary stats and only hits 1 target once the summon reaches melee range. Very bad in any situation that isn’t single target. Only beats other trinkets in damage if you are playing in melee every time it procs.

It really IS that good. I managed to pull a Heroic trinket (currently 619 at 4/6 Heroic) from the Vault and it has out performed everything else I have found thus far, even the Spymaster’s Web. It has become one of my favorite trinkets.

Thanks.
