I wish I could roll my eyes even harderā¦
I actually agree with the OP. I wish there were ways for solo players to get max level content. Iām not saying it should be easy or quick. Just having a way for solo players to progress would be amazing.
You can. Those games are called single player RPGs. This is an MMO.
What you describe wanting is something youād get from single player games. MMOs by their very definition SHOULD require groups to progress to the highest rewards.
I think World of Warcraft tends to give a fake sense of togetherness nowadays, Its slowly moving from mmo to E-Sport, If your not a elittist, or mythic raider or pvp wannabe god, then you find it hard to play the game, They preach a loving community at the same you can only have this shiny toy if pvp or mythic raid, and depending on outside trackers like IO and making the game into E-Sport to make money and sell goods. I hate to see another player leave but its not your fault itās the current decisions being made by corporate. (imho)
Good luck in your travels hope you find a game that fits your wants & expectations.
Not necessarily. Since itās not just an MMO, but an RPG MMO. The RPG element always gets lost in that argument.
What if my RPG fantasy is playing as a Rexxar type? A self sufficient, solo rangerish character? Sure, I can absolutely play that way, but youāre going to be gimped considerably as there are no rewards that come from that gameplay. There is really no solo content that is rewarding.
Torghast is a glimpse of it, but it looks like the rewards are just supplemental to other game mechanics and nothing of note rewarded on its own.
Mind you, I do enjoy playing with people, but I understand someone who wants to play this way. You interact with people in the world still, but stick to yourself mostly. Itās something I enjoy about playing Skyrim, and always thought it would awesome if I could play that way but there were other people in the world. (ESO doesnāt hit the mark for me, Iāve tried it. lol)
I know itās asking a lot for them to try and balance solo content on top of group, but it would be a cool addition to the game.
He said heās not having fun and has already quit . This is a feedback to the devs and management not to you guys
Are you implying that his critiques are beyond reproach?
Of-course your viewpoint aināt going change the Opās viewpoint. Your actions ā¦well they donāt matter
Valdorian I hope you find what you are looking for.
There are likely a fair few of us (though Iām not as good a player as you, not even close) that would love to see a game that does well that is a mix of WoW and say, Skyrim.
The path your character goes on is solo, the choices you make where your toon goes is strictly up to you, but itās also fun to be in a world thatās actually alive. You pass others who are on their own character journey as well.
Maybe every now and again have an event that pulls everyone together. Like a darkmoon faire, or a battleground, or invasion where everyone can participate.
But the main story is your own, thereās no need for high end raids , just solo bosses.
Could be fun, wonder if thereād be enough calling for a pace yourself your own way kind of game out there?
I just wish the gear you got from the content you did was always the best for that content. PvP should reward the best PvP gear. Instances should reward the best gear for instanced content. Pet battles should rewards the best gear for looking fabulous in pet battles.
This was never my intention. OP had two major critiques: Content (M+, PvP, raids) require other people for success, and that classes arenāt balanced and picking some excludes you from certain content.
His first point is ridiculous. There are many single player games out there. This isnāt one. It never has been. It never will be.
His second point is objectively wrong as every single class has representation in every type of content. Yes in certain circumstances some are better than others, but nobody is excluded.
I wasnāt trying to change the OPās mind. Quite the contrary, I want him to quit as it will mean an end to his pointless whining. I just wanted him to know how silly he is.
Bro it does not matter what you think , he is not asking you to convince him to stay . He has quit ,its a failure to retain customer , lost business.
You can never run a company for profit in your line of thinking that its just one dude and their thinking does not match yours. See in their point of view.
Exactly. This is what I just said. The game is better without him.
You are a failure in business,
Dont sell yourself short. Just because you may not have accomplished something in no way means you are not able to accomplish something.
I just think if i was a business i would want to reach the most customers as possible. You do that by finding out what everyone wants and finding if its viable to implement a system for them.
I think any reasonable players would be find getting their gear after all the raiders and group content as long as they were still able to earn it. I think being forced into a Do it or Dont system dosent sit well with people and the notion that only 20 man mythic raid teams deserve top in gear is absurd ideology.
After all why are they rewarded? because they completed difficult content.
So why is a solo player beating difficult content any less deserving that a group of people defeating difficult content. Each person in that raid did their piece.
It could be argued that solo content would be more difficult. In raid content people can get carried ( i know i did carries in pve and pvp this season) So someone who got carried deserves gear yet someone who puts in greater effort alone does not? Their is no logic behind this idea only outdated status quo
If you want to play a Rexxar type you should play a singleplayer game. They do those types better. lol
I get the sentiment but still.
I think thatās the point. WoW could do it better, but it isnāt their aim. Targeting group based content is fine, but there are plenty of solo players in the game too. It would be interesting to see some more content for them.
Doesnāt have to reward mythic level gear or anything. The mage tower was a huge success and it only gave a cosmetic skin. The Proving Grounds are another good example, and that just gave achievements and unlocked some content.
I like hanging out with friends and doing content, but sometimes solo stuff is fun too. Itās not one or the other. People can enjoy both.
I mean sure but no matter how well WoW does the solo content single player RPGs will do it better because it is their focus. It is not, should not, and will never be Blizzardās focus in WoW.
Iām not saying there shouldnāt be any solo content in the game⦠Only that if that is all someone is looking for out of the game that theyād be better off looking elsewhere.
With the budget wow has compared to single player games i think blizz def has the option to do it as well or better. However as this is a MMO it dosent seem like something they would invest in. I do think if they did they would draw a larger crowd. Just my thoughts
