Cancled sub - why - (not angry)

I wanted to leave a post for the Dev team on why i have chosen to leave the game.
First let me say IMO i think wow was (may be and definitely has potential to be) the best MMO out there.
Most of my reason for leaving is because what im looking for just dose not fit the idea behind a MMO.
My primary reason is I really dont like my success being tied to other people (its easy to fail repeatedly due to no fault of your own) In other words you can play well and yet see no reward for your time / effort.
Basically if you want the best gear in the game or more importantly as i view it to (Max out your toon) you have to Mythic Raid and play in the elite pvp bracket.
Both of which i can do but am not really interested in any longer.
I want to be able to log in whenever i want and work on my toon. That really isnt a option in wow. If its not a raid night or your 3s team isnt on there isnt much progression you can do.

I dont care how challenging or how long it would take but if there was a way to fully max out your toon in solo content i would stay. Now days BG’s are about the only content i actually enjoy. However to even enjoy then you have to do all of the listed above and M+ grinding.

Second to that… class balance ( or sever lack there of) just really killed my interest. I wont go into reasons because it really dosent matter at this point. I just dont care for how things are. I will never be ok with being behind the curve in certain area’s of the game just because of the class i chose.
Im well aware this is just how things have always been (likely always will be) but that in no way makes it ok.

GL to the rest of you and i hope you continue to enjoy the game.

Like you alluded to yourself, wanting to play alone in an MMO is kind of counter to the design decisions/goals of MMOs.

That being said, I definitely agree with you that balance is an issue. It is one that has been especially bad on the beta recently. The hope (that probably will not be the case) is that they will get that mostly lined out come the launch of SL.

This is an MMO, not Skyrim.

Game has never been more balanced than BFA. Every class can do all but the highest tier content.

Mythic N’Zoth was beaten by people in 460 gear, rank six cloaks, and hardly any corruption. What’s your excuse?

Hey ralph  While i agree there should be other paths that are more solo, pouting wont make the change.

You have very impressive achievements as far as I am concerned. I also agree that super difficult solo content with excellent rewards would be nice to add to the game. Proving grounds was fun and gave an achievement, but didn’t give other rewards even at endless. Visions gave great rewards after going masks and clearing everything, but the grinding required to get access, was very excessive in my opinion. Personally I agree and would like to see a few gear items drop from difficult solo content. Preferably even from templates. I know very few would agree with me. I don’t mean a full decked out set. Perhaps there could be weapons and trinkets from difficult solo content. At least that would be a start for what you are asking for.

if you want to play alone there are plenty of single player games that give what you want.

this is an MMO. solo play shouldn’t even be as much of a thing as it is.

What game are you gonna play then? I looked at your profile you seems to be a very competent player. There is no way you’re just gonna leave and not satisfy your MMO needs.

Thats part of playing an mmo . If you don’t want any success tied to other people then maybe a Single Player RPG is the way to go .

Now that’s not to say one can’t do stuff on their own but no solo content should be made to give gear equal to group content especially on the higher ends.

I don’t do Mythic Raids or Mythic + keys as well as rated bgs and arenas and I have no problem not having gear at those levels and I don’t have a problem with those that do . They put the work in and have earned their rightful rewards.

Last but not least. See you in SL because people that actually quit don’t talk about it they just do it.

Welcome to mythic plus. I just pushed a 20+ key with strangers in a pug. You don’t need a regular group and that’s why I like this small group content.

Assuming you dont play your character like a perfect AI bot, most people will average around the same dps given your similar Ilvl depending on the fight.

This whole idea of one class doing 20-30% more then another class is really only true if you are running sims IMO atleast

There is no excuse. There is only the fact i stopped raiding about 6 months ago where my guild was 7 of 12 and went on to get CE. Perhaps ask before making assumptions?

Judging from your pvp achieves you are a PVE hero which is fine but their is more to balance than just Raid content.

Sounds like you made the right call.

This is a group content based game. The best gear should always come from group content and never solo content.

Hope you find a game you can enjoy.

hmmm.

Actually you don’t.

You actually can do that. With all realms being connected, you are going to find people up trying to gear their character through mythic +, pvp and raiding at all hours of the day.
If you’re looking for a Mythic raid at 9 AM in the morning though, less likely to happen.

Do people really have no argument except “This is an MMO?” Nothing says an MMO can’t have good solo gearing systems.

crazy how many people view WOW in a single-player lens.

Single player RPGs exist to fill that need. Solo players shouldn’t be rewarded the same gear as mythic raiders in MMOs.

That’s not exactly true either, you can go solo. It’s just harder. Take me, I do everything solo, I clear Heroic AOTC every patch and then hunt for mounts/mogs/cool stuff.

(yes I realise AOTC requires others, but no it doesn’t have to be with a guild, pugging is a lot just like solo play as you are not tied to any commitments and can leave whenever you feel like or need to).

The game is basically whatever you make of it, if you are pure solo you will undoubtedly have a harder time, but it can be done.
