Much like with the Shadowlands fiasco, blizzard will only react when their bottom line in threatened. They’re philosophy is simple; like all corporations, their model deliver the least amount product as possible while maximizing profit. If they could get away with another Shadowlands they would, except they know they can’t.
So the same thing goes for the dracthyr evoker. They screwed up the transmog, barbershop, visage, and even soar which they reluctantly “fixed” only after two years. In true blizzard fashion they still didn’t even fix it correctly. They’ve decided it’s not worth the cost effort to fix it because they assume it won’t affect their subscription numbers. So the lie to us telling us they will fix things as a delay tactic then they hope we’ll just forget and stay subscribed.
“Don’t play evoker, reroll another class, play something” is what they say. “Pick another class” is not a valid argument for not fixing problems with a class whether in balance or functionality. Most of us play a single main for various reasons and don’t want to be told to play alts everytime they screw up a class.
Evoker is the only I want to main, and if blizzard can’t fix the bloody basics then I’m not sticking around for them to do so on their 40th anniversary. What a joke.
In short, if you main as an Evoker and want to see them capitulate (fix transmog, barber, soar, allow visage form in combat) , then cancel your account and telll them why. Otherwise they’re is no reason for them to change because you stayed jusy like they assumed would. “Don’t play evoker, play something else, leave, stop complaining, shut up” is what they tell us. They’re right, leave and play something else. Money talks so vote with your dollar.
Don’t take it to heart, if you can’t change the situation, just accept it and let it go, you can’t drink the sea.
Warrior?
Dude, I’m not a developer of game, just a player like you, but I like current state of Visage, what about me, what If I don’t wanna play another humanoid mage?
Btw what a problem with the barber we have atm? Can you explain?
Class isn’t screwed up. You just don’t share a vision for it with the developers. Quitting is the right move for you, because the class is currently great and while more cosmetic love would be nice, they clearly don’t have much interest in changing things in the way you want.
Less people are willing to quit over cosmetic issues than you seem to think.
I don’t really have a problem with the class though. I love the barber shop armour and the lack of transmog in Dracthyr form has never been a problem for me. I do not really use Visage and never really wanted to use it in combat. I also like the way Soar is currently.
I mean, if they continued to tweak the class to allow more options for people I would be okay with that too. As long as I get to keep the options I have now, I am always for more choice. It is just that currently I am pretty happy with the class and the race.
Edit: Okay… I would love at least a glyph, but that is a conversation for another day. Just something that would let me change the poof colour when I switch from Visage and Dracthyr would be wonderful even…
I really like the evoker as well as the dracthyr in the state, the class is pretty good even if we have a heroic specialization that isn’t really in top form.
I really don’t see what the problem is, yes it could have been better, just as it could have been much worse. The only negative point, which I’d really like to have, is a transportable hairdresser. I’d love not to have to come back to a city to change my dracthyr for various reasons.
Evoker will probably never achieve everyone’s ideal form (that would be impossible), but they’re continuing to make improvements, many of them requested by the player base. Think of how soar was at launch compared to now, for example.
The only thing depriving them of funding will do is coagulate the flow of positive changes.
You’re right, money talks, but that runs both ways. Keep paying and keep requesting. Someone who is no longer a customer isn’t going to get much attention, but paying customers making continuous requests for specific changes does. Changes might feel like glaciers sliding into place, but WoW continues to evolve at the best pace a corporate machine like Blizz can manage.
