SE isnt worth the time or effort. Canceled my sub. Like to say its been a good run but looking back they made some really dumb decisions. All the raids had plenty of bugs that took weeks to fix. Only raid that felt great was BWL.
Short raid with plenty of options and extra loot if you did the weekly dragon.
If it wasnt for the friends that I raided with id say SOD overall was a bust.
Good luck on your future endeavors! It can’t be everyones cup of tea. Outside of a few mishaps here and there (ie Phase 3 being a big one), SoD has been a massive success overall for myself. Looking forward to what future content comes next for SoD and/or Classic+.
Cata Classic (soon MoP Classic), Hardcore and Retail is there for you.
Sod was a failed project from the start.
The peeps that play SoD… Aren’t the same as the peeps that wanted to play Cata, god forbid MoP.
Can be at any given time. It’s the same sub.
Sometimes it’s great to explore games you never played
Later gator.
Byebye! One fewer negative nancy.
Phase 1 was good, new, shiny. Phase 2 was good. Phase 3 was okay. Sunken Temple raid was fine, itemization was a miss. But if you didn’t like incursions, you could skip them. So calling it a mistake is being disingenuous. Molten Core was fine; don’t like stacking resists? Don’t do heat 3. Easy. BWL was fine; good optional hard modes. AQ was fine; hard modes were a little too easy, but okay. Naxx was fun. Doing big numbers = good.
And Scarlet Enclave is good. Overtuned at the start, yes, but they’re fixing it. Biggest issue is enrage timers, and they’re becoming more lenient. Still see people complaining that it’s too hard, and others complaining nerfs are too much; obvious proof that you can’t please everyone. But it’s settling into a good spot. I’m enjoying the fights, and the aesthetic, and we’re making progress through it.
The only thing I’m really missing right now is a big challenge after. I want a final raid, with like 3 boss fights that are just super hard. They don’t award gear. So you go in with your phase 8 bis, and push as hard as you can. Get mounts or pets or toys, but no more power. You go to the other raids to get your power, and this is your final test.
Other than that, SoD has been great. Not every choice was a hit (fix healing mages), but the extra specs, new raids, new ideas have all been great. World buffs on items. Cheap flasks. Extra transmutes. All trade specializations. Dual spec. So much quality of life.
You say im negative but you had more fixes in your post vs postive things to say
They were bad versions of WoW when they came out, and the only reason for refreshing them is micro transactions. Don’t call SoD a failed project, it’s been the reason many of us resubscribed to this madness.
Do you remember the patches from vanilla? They were constantly making pretty big changes. Just the nature if the beast of a big game with so many dynamics. Trying to balance all the classes, runes, specs, gear for PVE and PVP…
I’ve enjoyed it personally.
“just don’t do the brand new content lol don’t do it”
If your best defense of a game’s content is to “don’t do it”, then it’s obviously very bad content, bootlicker.
Dang I was somewhat looking at your posts like a light in the darkness. Someone that’s cleared the raid and can give valid criticism on things that should be changed.
I can’t say me my friends really wanna slog through the raid every week, not because we find the raid to be overly difficult, but because everything just has so much hp that it just ends up taking long for the sake of taking long. Also being nerfed mid tier is fantastic. Really enjoy that.
Idk how long we’ll be at it, but we’ll try at least. Good luck to you in what you decide to do.
Just came here to say…can I have your stuffs?
I tried to be positive towards SoD for the better part of a year and a half but after watching the devs ignore major gameplay problems and bugs for weeks on end, really shattered my confidence in them.
At least in retail, when a major patch inevitably launches with bugs, they always get fixed within a day or two. 11.1.5 launched yesterday and the world content scenario is broken, but I have confidence it will be fixed likely today.
It took them a month just to fix the bug in Karazhan Crypts that caused the Dark Riders to despawn, bricking your lockout. I can’t tell you how many hours I wasted trying to farm the KC bow only to not have a chance at loot on the last boss.
In the past, I would have excused their inaction as being busy with managing multiple game modes but Cataclysm players have been treated far worse. What are they doing?
Give us warning ahead of time, my paladin could have used some of that gold!!!
3 weeks of progression raiding is too much for some people.
Maybe this game just isn’t for you.
Not just SoD, but WoW in general.
You pay $15 a month and expect all the devs to cater to your specific concerns, you expect all the loot you want, and to be able to do the “hardest” content out there with ease.
This isn’t a pay-to-win game, sorry.
Already 8/8 first lockout. I want it to be more realistic. Everything is overtuned. Too much trash, enrage timers come too soon, barley any loot, you spend 1000’s of gold that you dont have on consumes, and you spending 5-6 hours in raid. Some people havent even got a single item yet.
They dropped the ball on SE. SOD team has been trash.
If they wanted a hard version they should have done a normal and heroic setting. Just like ICC in wrath.
Some people should just be quiet when they leave.
L take. Sounds like someone who will settle for BS in their life. Tell your wifes bf to help you get tougher
If you think 20 man groups will only need 3 weeks of prog to clear this raid, I don’t think you’ve even attempted the raid yet.
