They haven’t taken anything away. They have added more in, and if you want the bonus shiny stuff, you can pay real money for them.
The micro shop didn’t exist back in the day, now it does.

As someone that’s American I totally agree, if they are gonna do it in some places it should be done equally because we should all be paying the same price whether $15 or slightly more.

With conversion from CAD to USD I’m currently paying $14.89/month USD which is actually less than the Americans.
So maybe we don’t rock that boat.

Yeah before the game time increase we always paid a bit less than Americans.
Subs still do, just not with game time anymore.
Yes this is literally my point. There is more going on than “Your subs haven’t increased in 16 years” when talking about how Blizzard profits off the game.
In the other smaller thread, that is the theory.
They did it to Australia and now Canada as a test. Next will be the US.
Okay, I just did some more math (and a little Googling) and found that the USD in 2004 is worth $1.39 today. So, based upon the inflation of the past 16 years, the monthly sub fee should be $20.83 (USD). I think we’re doing great.

I always like being the positive cynic. Yeah things go wrong but for most of us we really can’t do anything alone (barring extreme recourse) so why not have a few laughs along the bumpy road?
But in all honest I expect a possible EU bump next and then an American bump after that. Services probably around the same time as any of those, and the latest sometime a bit before the next patch/tier. So maybe a like 2-3 weeks after blizzcon. Or then, depends on how blizzard wants to send the bad news.
Also expect quite alot more store mounts too.

Holy smokes, have you been back recently, Hippeaux?! Total sidebar, I know, but I’ve not seen this name in what feels like a year or more.
For my edification, if a player maintains an active month-to-month sub, does that mean (because of the consecutive months) they won’t see an increase?
This is what is really confusing me. Trying to heavily lock people into longterm subs they probably won’t do either if they don’t have friends or the gameplay isn’t fun.
Yeah, just checked myself. It is so bizzare. oO I always paid for 30 days option so it doesn’t automatically charge me for next month before I decide to continue. I hope this doesn’t mean they are in the process of changing the sub to that too.

They prob want more ppl on 6month sub cause it looks better for the stockholders.
They def do. And it’s tempting tbh. Getting free goodies like Mounts and now Tmog just for being a 6 month sub in addition to a slight discount.
This change feels like they want to move away from prepaid Game Time as a whole, and bait people into monthly payments instead.
