So in the storm phase you can use the rocket jump thingy, it gives you an extra action button to fly up or jump to a new spot.
But if you try to use one of the weapons it is also an extra action button is there any way to see both at once?

The 2nd half of using it (Target your landing area) stuns any mobs that are within range.
The rocket, as well as the weapons available in the storm phase are all 60min buffs. Should be showing as an icon up alongside your other current buffs. There may be a /use macro that can be made, I dunno, but you can right click to remove the buff.
That being said, those action buttons they use should have been made to work like the Garrison action buttons and be able to be dragged and placed on your toolbar. I always buy up a bunch of rockets and remove the buff whenever I want to use the weapon I grabbed from the camp. Then use a new rocket whenever I want to jettison around.
Make a macro to use the rocket, then bind that macro to CTRL-1 or just drag it to your bars if you have space. Then when you pickup a bomb, that should be the “extra action button” but if it’s not you can make a 2nd macro just for the bomb (or whatever weapon your grab).
Also, ExtraActionButton itself can be bound to a keystroke under Options / Keybinds, but I don’t think that helps if you have two items in bags that are both triggered on ExtraActionButton. I think you need a macro to always access the one that gets overwritten.
The rocket isn’t a single use item. Once you equip it, you can use it via the extra action button as many times as you want for an hour.
If you’re in the storm phase and have a weapon, sure, you can use another rocket for a single-time jump/landing, but as soon as you land, you get the weapon buff again. If you want to rocket jump, you have to use another rocket, and they’re unique (10).
This is bad design.
That’s what it seemed like to me, I didn’t think they would have programmed it badly so I thought I was missing something
Are you saying a macro dedicated to “/cast ” doesn’t work, because my suggestion was to NOT use the extra action button since it gets overwritten by another item. Macros typically provide a workaround for “bad design” in this particular scenario.
If you’re saying that “bad design” shouldn’t exist in the first place, I agree, but in the meantime players come up with workarounds that may be useful to some (perhaps even most).
From my research there’s no workaround for stacking extra action buttons. Would love to be wrong.
Sadly I think you’re right… the item goes away from your bags so “/cast Experimental Go-Pack” doesn’t work. Also using “/cast Command Mine” didn’t work, only “/click ExtraActionButton1” worked and only for the “buff on top,” which was the mine.
Both buffs are there but ExtraActionButton1 is tied to the most recently added of the two, so if I have the rocket but don’t use it and pick up a Crawler Mine EAB-1 shows up for the mine. If I then use the rocket, EAB-1 switches to the rocket, but my buff areas shows both buffs active, but EAB-1 only works for the “one on top / most recently added.” I can click-off the rocket buff to set EAB-1 back to the mine, but that’s not what I want to do… I want to access either buff with a macro, but seems harder than I initially thought.
So yeah, just bad design (sorry I though a macro could get around this and there probably is a more involved library command to get at these but I don’t have a searchable list of all the callable functions (e.g., like /run C_AddOns.LoadAddOn(“Blizzard_WeeklyRewards”); WeeklyRewardsFrame:Show() will show the vault status from anywhere). It seems like the Spell_ID to launch into the sky with the rocket is “467294.”, but I’m not sure how to incorporate that into a macro (I think you have to use GetSpellName(467294) and then CastSpellByName on that result, but not skilled enough with macros to do that).
Yeah maybe someone has a workaround, or will come up with one but by then meh.
Did they seriously not see this as a potential problem? I can do the mobs in storm without the weapons but it takes way longer
The one workaround in this specific instance is never finishing the rocket pack quest and using the icon in the quest objectives.
