Can you still bump?

Hey guys,

Was wondering, but is it no longer possible to bump your own post? Sorta wanted to keep my Learning Raid Group thread bumped for any in GD who wanted to participate… Just says I have to wait for someone to respond before I’m allowed to reply. Do I have to remake the post every time to allow for exposure to this group?

there is always a way to bump a topic. the difference is whether the system will action against those who do bump topics

You could have the other people in your raid stop in and also drop a post here and there.

Wouldn’t it be more effective to bookmark it and then linking to it in other relevant topics throughout the forums?

There should be something that could be done to keep it alive without violating ToS.

Well, it was aimed to be more of a bill board style of announcement. An FYI for frequent forumers who may show interest and assumed such things didn’t happen.

Dunno… It feels very clunky and is definitely hard to hold a conversation… as it seems very non-intuitive as who is responding to who. Is there still a way to “quote” people? I found that very easy to know who was talking to who.

Have you tried bumping with an alt? I’ve noticed that the forums seem to be treating alts as completely separate posters. For instance, I used the privacy settings to hide my main’s profile, but this one isn’t hidden (and I can’t look at my main’s when I’m on this character.)

Yup, it works if you use an alt… Wonder if it’ll cause an infraction though… Seems silly since the whole point is to offer help to GD forum goers.

I suppose the ruling in the Forum rules against bumping is there for a reason, probably to stop older posts from being repeatedly brought to the top. About all they say is

The act of posting simply to bump a thread is considered spamming

Which is also against the rules. So I guess you take your chances either way.

Well they haven’t banned or infracted me yet on the topic and I’ve bumped it regularly since January. Oh well.

I suspect there are other things that are higher on their radar than someone bumping a few threads, especially if they aren’t being obnoxious. Good luck anyhow :smiley_cat:
