When you are generating tons of maelstrom can you stack Earthquake multiple times to maximize AOE damage?
Or will the new Earthquake overwrite the original Earthquake?

Yes you can stack EQ.
With maelstrom and procs I have had 4 up at one time.
It can get really fun with Aftershock and long lived packs of mobs.
