i am curious
Not that I can find, and I am complaining about it on reddit and wow forums. I’m not doing all of 10.1.7 and 10.2 quests on all 13 classes. They have the “I’ve heard this tale before” technology. Use it Blizzard.
OK i figured it out - Alts take a portal from the GREEN section of valdrakken to Central Encampment. All the non story quests will be waiting for you.
Yes. I logged into my alt and had a token in my bag that had a green dragon icon. Clicked it and it lets you skip straight to the new ED quest line.
odd mine dont have that
correction SOME do SOME dont
Same. I completed 4 of the quest till I couldn’t go further. One alt had a green dragon icon to skip quest for turn in, another didn’t. All alts did have portal available to access isles w quests and WQ, but Call of the dream quest still shows except for that one alt that had green dragon.
I had the token used it, then still had to do all the intro quest. Re-logged to see if something wasn’t working when I used the token. Not sure how it’s supposed to work.
The token allows you to skip the Shandris questline in Ohnharan Plains. Did you still have to do that?
Yes, using token told me to go to Shandris for completion of the flame something chapter of emerald dream. After completing that shandris was just like go into the portal and get your third whimsydrake and go from there.
Man, what an annoying bug, then. Sorry you had to do that stuff over again.
I never received this token thing people speak of for my alts.
its not a big deal, its my third character, its gear and rep, its fine. It doesnt take very long but I will probably wait before I take more through it.
I’m assuming you mean the actual 10.2 questline, so everything in the Emerald Dream. I fully completed it on this guy, but when I brought my Druid into the fray, I had to do the story all over again. They let me skip TO the story, but there was no skip FOR the story.
I had to throw away the whimsydrake, cause I already had one. I’m doing the exact same quests as before. I will say though, more is opened up to you at the start, than your first run through. You can accept the weekly rep gathering quest immediately, to get that reward as you’re questing through the ED story.
So it’s kiiiiinda alt friendly, but I was hoping for a skip so I could just get to farming. Oh well.
This whole process was a bit confusing. I’m glad we could skip the first part on alt. However, I could not skip the emerald welcome. I had to get the mount again, then delete it. I also still had to do many of the welcome quest lines.
But I’d prefer not to. My screen sadly will be filled with yellow exclamation quests every time I visit the burrow. Some quests which aren’t required are still showing up on my screen.
Blizzard needs to fix this. Not only is this process confusing for players who play multiple characters but it makes the game feel overwhelming.
We need account wide progression. Our war band should all be under one account, all rep we farm on any character goes to an account wide renown or rep bar to grind.
All quests we complete on main should be skippable on alts so at least we can get rid of those yellow exclamation points.
I don’t get it. I feel forced to play one character because I don’t have the time to play and enjoy more classes.
If you can’t get the Shandris’s Scouting Report to show in your bags, abandon the quest “Call of the Dream” and then re-accept it from Shandris, the token will appear in your bag and you can use it.
I had it appear for my first alt but all other alts were not having it. I think it’s because “Call of the Dream” was automatically accepted for them, and there’s a bug where it doesn’t put the token in your bag on login.
I mean, what are you not able to skip?
I moved my whole roster of alts to ED and did the weekly quests (superbloom, 5 seeds, 1500 rep) on all of them without ever going further in the campaign than getting the whimsydrake and I only had to do that to finish the Aiding the Accord quest - the rest could be completed without ever even touching another quest.
Yeah, I suppose so, but you’d miss out on flightstones and dewdrops, but I guess you’d miss out on those anyway, if you took a skip. It was just too tempting to have all those quests laying around and not do them. It doesn’t really matter though, at least in my case, because I decided to switch mains to my Druid, so I’m going to be going forward with the rest of the story on her anyway.
I think they’re messing around with stuff behind the scenes. Only my other 2 lvl 70’s got the skip item. My 60-69’s didn’t get crap and the first one I tried with could port to the emerald dream but had no world quests available. Now a few days later any alt I have can go in and do the wq without doing anything.
i mean why is it taking so long to do simple things like this for players? the game didnt just come out and stuff like this should be done in beta…wtf
how… i miust post ten characters so io9ngopre this after how
