Is my graphics card the problem? I have 8gb ram, is that really low nowadays? I also have an external solid state drive with usb 3.0 that is using readyboost but I don’t think it’s doing anything. I have tried playing WoW from both the external SSD and the internal hard drive, but can’t say I notice a difference.

It isn’t worth upgrading that computer. You won’t get a good ratio of cost to performance.

Your processor was introduced in 2014, is 4th gen, uses DDR3, and now we’re on 13th gen, and DDR5.

Do not buy HP. Do not buy Alienware. They have proprietary parts. Best thing to do is either build your own using Partpicker, or get a pre-built thats not, Dell, HP, etc. If you wanna finance one you can use IBuyPower or the likes.

Hi all, what is the best silent (<25 dB) pre-built computer for WoW? I also need it to be reliable and hard for me to break out of ignorance.

Silent…That would be a hard call to make unless you are sitting in front of it. What exactly do you mean by silent in your terms?

OP, I am not sure if you can finance a laptop or desktop… The best brand I have used and gamed with is ASUS ROG… And I have had just an ASUS laptop for work ect… 300 the highest you can go?

Slient as in fan noise?

If you want to try and upgrade what you have, slam as much DDR3 memory into it as you can. You’re only running on 8. And get a cheap upgrade for the graphics card with more memory. 2GB can barely crawl the web. Presidents’ Day sales coming up, check newegg, amazon and best buy. Anything would probably help you a ton.
