It’s been broken since dragonflight, just got the fishing artifact on an alt and can’t even access the trait list, and on my main some traits aren’t even working such as baits not scaling with fishing artifact level, or fishing up an entire school in one cast, or blood fishing etc.

I’ll repeat my reply from elsewhere here, hopefully it’s useful!
There is one heck of a method to keep track of the Underlight Angler’s skill tree, because it still exists but its UI has been busted.
The most important part is to always make sure you have opened up the skill tree window with that shift + right click before you use any of these scripts, otherwise nothing will happen.
What you will get is stuff listed in the chat window, and you can click on the blue bits to get the various detailed information.

That particular comment has the entire setup of the scripts you can use, both to show what level every skill is currently at and how to add new levels once you have enough artifact power collected. (I have yet to try the latter part myself, but I also haven’t been fishing in Legion water since foreeever.)

a work around like this really shouldn’t be needed, this bug just needs to be fixed asap.

I agree, this is ridiculous. Some of us spent a considerable amount of time to have this fishing pole as well as the days put into getting the achievement for the appearances. All of that taken from us because it was borked in Dragonflight. At least all we ask is for you to restore the ability to change the colors again. To not have this fixed for almost three years is absurd. The achievement “Fisherfriends of Azeroth” still promises players to receive the Underlight Emerald to change the appearance of the Undelight Angler and it doesn’t work anymore! Bring this back!

In addition to the features OP listed, my biggest complaint is that the appearances DO NOT STICK! Another ongoing issue since Dragonflight, reported many times on both US and EU realms, some even commented they submitted tickets to no avail.
Changing appearances at the Underlight Pearl does absolutely nothing. All Blizzard suggestions do not work (“Fishing for Attention” buff on/off, Making sure crafting tools & fishing accessories visibility option is on from the NPCs in Valdrakken or Dornogal, resetting UI, disabling addons, deleting cache, reloading, restarting, Unequipping & Re-equip, etc.)
To this day I still make the occasional Bug Report in-game but the devs fail to acknowledge it or fix it. It’s incredibly frustrating.

its not that its badly messed up, its just messed up and they have almost 0 staff working on fixing any bugs that aren’t current content.
look at the stuff from shadowlands that’s been broken for a year for example, or the garrison monument bugs. if its not current content, it’s just never going to get fixed - that’s the blizzard that runs the game these days.

So six months later, and not one blue post saying when they are going to fix this…
I get that it’s all interns any more and no one understands what the coders did even one expac ago, but maybe feed the code into ChatGPT and see if it can help. And yeah, that’s an insulting thing for me to say to the dozen devs working issues, but breaking perfectly working content and then not telling the players anything is an insult to the millions players that fund their salaries. Seriously Blizz, do better.
No one cares about the “State of Azeroth” when the answer is “broken with a chance of apathy”.
An issue I have, that I haven’t seen addressed, is that mine doesn’t even do what it’s supposed to anymore (water walking and fish form). Is this tied to the skill tree issue? And it’s apparently just me, because my friends’ still work as they should.
I have just learnt abought this item in TWW so i farmed this for two days and have gotten the PW up to 5800. only to find there is no way to use it. the tree doesn’t even show anything?.. so F++k’n stupid of yet another brilliant game implement just to have some yahoo break the code or getting removed like the artifact gear along side Heirloom?.. all that time i had depended on lower leveling, oh, and don’t forget to mention all the wasted time getting the reshi wraps. so please Blizzard can we get more useless artifacts in Midnight? Ohhh, and make it a big one like the flop of the undermine G-99 breakneck.. worst transportation idea but het lets keep getting them while they are fresh and hot…
