I’m pretty much checked out of TWW right now, waiting on legion remix (anxiously, impatiently waiting) so this topic is more urgent and relevant to me right now, but it’s ALWAYS relevant because a big part of my play experience and enjoyment is twinking my own alts or doing something really nice for a friend / stranger via lower crafting.
That’s really not possible right now with low level crafting. The average trash green that is two levels lower is going to be better than the level-restricted stuff you can craft for a character because the ilvl is almost certainly going to be higher.
Enter crafter’s marks! Set the desired item level to 45 and the ilvl to… what? That’s still garbage, and in hindsight, something obviously missed.
Crafting has been a core component of the play experience for a massive slice of your player base since 2004.
Let’s say that again, but in bold!

To just completely abandon it like this is baffling to me.
Open up prior xpac bop on craft as boe or boa. Fix the ilvls. For that matter, add a ‘legacy’ tree to commission system so people can commission old stuff.
edit - forgot the crafter’s mark thing. 15/25/35 etc is too wide. 15/20/25/etc would be much better. And use more mats. And cost players more money / gold sink more.
