subjective
Its pretty accurate when half the classes are broken.
And by broken, I dont mean the better then others broken.
MOP design was king. No discussion needed
Eh, in some ways. But there wasnât really an expansion that was the totally best. Every spec had different ups and downs, and even that depends on preference. Cata, MoP, and WoD all iterated on often similar, but uniquely competent, designs.
Legion depends on if you count legendries and artifacts.
Well understandably this could be a subjective topic for many, but MOP felt like the culmination of several expansions class design in my opinion
Class flow and harmony is extremely important to me and design as of late as feels jarring and stale. I seen a old post that described that classes resources and such should play out like music notes. That rogue energy and subsequent combo points were much like guitar hero if you could believe it. There just seemed to be more of natural flow with how well the classes played.
In MOP like now, I had every class at max level. Admittedly I donât play most classes that well at high level but I can recognize what feels good in terms of resource flow and execution. Best example is Destro Locks in MOP.
You didnât need drain life, you had this wonderful system of trading off burning embers to heal yourself or drop chaos bolts within a window depending on what the situation called for. Now, not every class was perfect but it was fun as hell.
Even the talent rows made more sense, like warrior each row gave you different iterations of something similar. Second wind, victory rush, enraged regen. These were healing options and it just made so much sense. After MOP it went down hill and I am pretty sure that is when double time victory rush and storm hammer went on same row. Whoever helmed class design WOD on has no idea what they are doing. These werenât meaningful choices, they were and and still are idiotic choices.
No amount of legendary, covenant, essences, azerite, artifact, conduits, class set bonus etc and so on will EVER make up for a well balanced base tool kit for class design. All the frustrations and gross mismanagement of class balancing stems from their lack of understanding this and that is why we have 3 frost mage meta runs for mythic plus. They double downed on ice lance over and over with no thought to how frost really plays or the skill it took to get a good glacial spike off.
They are throwing darts at a board and scrambling and the player base as we wait for a pushed off expansion recognizes this. Even the average player are not going to find conduits fun. Just like legendary in shadowlands, you have to do the most random content even if you donât like raiding etc. to get some of these legendary schematic or conduit. Then you got to farm Torghast which isnât even endless? I thought it was inspired by rogue like games? More time gating crap that will favor whoever can blitz through it quick aka Demon hunters lol.
They need to revise some of their design staff⌠Sorry blizzard. Pointless grinding systems like conduits is not good content and the trick only works a couple of times. The rehashed perpetual grind system wonât keep working for most people as we are all burnt out.
you do realize that warriors have always had a strong bleed presence. right back to vanilla.
Eeehhhhhh. I dunno if Iâd say warrior bleeds were necessarily strong in vanilla.
And Iâm pretty sure thereâs been times when warriors have had almost no bleed presence.
rend was always a big thing, all versions of fury back in vanilla used it for the bleed damage, most people would laugh at you if you didnât use it.
We? You mean âyouâ. This is retail buddy boy
Okay you lost me.
Rend was so terrible in vanilla nobody used it at all because it was the biggest waste of rage in your entire spellbook. Especially fury warriors. The only time rend was ever used in vanilla was to keep rogues from restealthing.
I remember Rend being important in MoP though.
Yeah crazy. Not like this was changed
What does this have anything to do with Warbreaker being super powerful?
this is whats wrong with you people
WTF DOES STRONG PRESENCE MEAN? The class hasnt been fun since mop.
i dont care if theyre the best, i dont care if the design is âcompetentâ
do u guys remember a word called fun? mop was fun, mop warrior had mobility, damage, utility, cc, your slam, overpower, execute, and MS functioned like they are SUPPOSED TO, and did HUGE DAMAGE, you had banners you could intervene to get out of roots, or your team mates, you had stormbolt AND shockwave, bet you dont even know that because youre so used to picking stormbolt or double charge which is the most disgusting choice ive ever been given, you had baseline 2 charges in mop, almost forgot. you had disarm all of these things, all of this utility
and you people settle for BFA WARRIOR AND ARGUE FOR IT LOL
this is why i dont even want to pretend to relate to you, if you are okay with wod warr, leg warr, bfa warr, you have no business talking about warriors
the fact that you all arent here SCREAMING for mop class design across the board or prior back tells me you guys just boost one of every toon and can take or leave any of them and just want cheap and easy
sorry if this comes across as rude, but F your stat knowledge and your mastery and blah blah, you are all fake warriors
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lumxwtyx6z8
the fact that people arent here demanding this back, all 3 stances, MORE abilities added on and not taken away, INSANE UTILITY CC AND SURVIVABILITY AND FUN, dont expect me to entertain some fake intellectual argument when u have NO argument. its insane that people that use THIS FORUM has gotten so much taken away from retail and ran it into the ground
if you respond âfun is subjective, i prefer wod warriorâ or some stupid thing like that, you are just flat out wrong. or dont have enough mechanical skill and want the game made easier for you
I recall a word called âsubjectiveâ.
Whoâs arguing for BFA warrior.
Christâs sake.
âYou donât agree with me blindly, so your opinion doesnât countâ.
Pretty popular design.
Wouldnât âinsaneâ utility, cc, and survivability, be a bad thing. Thereâs a difference between strong and broken.
Again, it is literally a subjective subject. People prefer different things.
And I love the casual, calling other people casual.
What even is a fake intellectual argument.
read the rest of the post, no one cares what you think besides people who have no idea whats going on and needs someone to think for them
u and people like u are why the game is bad
any iteration of any class after mop is an easier iteration, therefore you just prefer the game when its easier for you
He said while investing heavily into the simplest version of WoWs gameplay to ever exist.
Take a shot anytime someone uses the word âclunkyâ for no reason on this forum and you will die a swift death.
ive said multiple multiple times, i will go wherever warrior feels like warrior, if its a cata server, or a classic server, or mop i do not care, but whatever this retail crap youre âplayingâ is, that isnt warrior
Wait, what?
Warbreaker is the single most fun and awesome skill in the warrior kit.
It also takes our damage buff cooldown (colossus smash) and turns it into an AOE. Who the hell would rather have a single-target only damage CD in a game where 99% of the fights are AOE?
Also, cleave is great. It pains me deeply that I have to choose between it and warbreaker.
Honestly the way the game is focused on AoE right now⌠warbreaker should just be the default skill and not a talent.
Of all the things ya boi Derez unnecessarily labels as subjective (itâs a forum where we exclusively post opinions often as a form of feedback, subjectivity should be understood), this one made me understand why he calls it out so much.
I hope most people here donât think theyâre speaking this objectively.
Also, advocating for a seemingly OP warrior and in the same post calling out others for wanting things easier, Iâm going to go cross eyed over here.
as i also said, every class was op in mop which balanced the game in an amazing way. next
