Can you make camping flight paths and inn’s count as “harassment”?

The game is totally unplayable. It is impossible to level. Moreover it’s just not fun anymore. Can you offer greater protections to players who just want to level?

This is their current PvP policy.

If you wish to see it changed (though I must stress that this is not guaranteed), you’ll need to post in the Classic General Discussion forum.

As an alternative, you’re always free to roll on a PvE server at your discretion.

Do note you’d effectively be asking for Classic to be less like Vanilla.

That may be a bit of an uphill push.

It’s almost like people forgot all the crappy things about vanilla.

It does seem that way. When I started in 2006, I started on a PVE server because I KNEW what PVP servers were like. And I never regretted my decision.

Yep! This is already in the game. You will want to play on a Normal (or RP) realm, not a PvP (or RP-PvP) realm.

That doesn’t prevent players from camping NPCs, which would appear to be OP’s complaint.

Correct. But the OP asked for protection to players who just want to level. That protection exists in the form on a Normal realm, where the player can opt out of PvP.

A dead innkeeper doesn’t prevent you from using a hearthstone to get there, and a dead flight master doesn’t stop you from flying into that town. Beyond that, having to walk to the next town instead of flying (which you have to do once anyway) or having to walk back to the quest hub to turn in quests is hardly gamebreaking, or “unplayable”, or “impossible to level”.

I don’t want to get nitpicky, but OP is specifically asking that camping NPCs be punishable.

Camping the innkeeper doesn’t prevent you from using your hearthstone, but it does prevent you from buying and selling from that innkeeper. Camping the flightmaster can also be a significant inconvenience.

Game-breaking, no. Off-putting and extremely frustrating, absolutely.

Either way, there’s nothing Customer Support can do, which I think is the main bullet point, and the available options are: re-roll on a normal realm, and/or provide feedback in a dev reviewed channel (General, reddit, @WarcraftDevs on Twitter, etc.).

Indeed. I agree with you that it’s frustrating.

But the OP also says

These are simply not true. I do agree with the statement that it’s not fun.

My point (which was probably snarkier than necessary) is that in Classic, this is the way it is. I hate that line of reasoning (“It’S aLwAyS bEeN tHaT wAy”), but that’s simply the nature of Classic. It’s why it was brought back, and it’s what people wanted. Even on Normal realms, people can flag and camp towns. At least on Normal realms, the worst you have to do is walk to a new town, or wait for them to get bored.
