Can you buy a wow token even you don’t have a world of Warcraft membership but can still make a level one and go to auction and buy membership?
I assume wow token is the same as retail where you get $20 vs 30 days of membership?
How you gona have 4.5 gold on a level 1 char…
You need a subscription in order to buy a token. Its not like retail where you can buy one with an expired sub.
You can’t use the AH on a trial membership.

He probably is paying for his current sub buying tokens off the AH, and wants to start a second account. I know a guy who wanted a 2nd DK on the same server so he could have one of each class on both Horde and Alliance, and he had to buy a sub for one month first.

Back when they wnated to clean out the 2 hour qeue’s they even relaxed gold limits. That level 1 transferred well over gold limit. It was free to ob…wth, it saved mail game time lol.
OP…not sure if wow does this. But Ask CS/put a ticket in to see if they can grant a few hour play period for free. Explicitly state its to buy a token to “sub” that way.
Other games like eve (before they had f2p alpha) status allowed this. I wrote their CS a few times to get my account an hour to buy plex to get game time when I came off breaks.
Maybe blizzard can be nice here?
I opened a ticket to Blizzard for the same reason, and they gave me 24 hours on the account to trade gold over and buy a token. That being said, it was an existing account that was dormant and had a long history of previous subs. Not sure how they’d feel about it being a totally new account.

Nope, you can only trade token for game time, you will still need to buy wow retail.

You can buy tokens with active account on retail, and convert them into battle.net balance and buy sub that way.
WoW Token purchased from the Shop for real money can be sold on the in-game Auction House for gold. Tokens purchased on the Auction house for gold can be redeemed for $15 of Battle.net Balance or 30 days of Game Time.

Unfortunately not… Classic tokens can only be exchanged for game time, not Bnet balance
