Can you macro Ambush and Backstab on the same key?

Like the macro will use Ambush when in stealth and in shadow dance but when that wears off, backstab will be used. Is a macro like that possible?

Don’t you have a completely different action bar when you’re stealthed? Just put them on the same key?

/cast [stance:0] Backstab
/cast [stance:1] Ambush

Something like that. At work right now so i dont have access to computer. Stance 0 being regular and Stance 1 being on stealth. Cant remeber of stance 1 covers shadowdance or not

I just used shadow dance for the first time and realized it has it’s own action bar also lol

Shadow Dance should use the stealth bar IIRC…but I haven’t played my own sub rogue in quite awhile.

So no macro is needed. Just put the 2 skills on the same key.

If it were me what I’d do is put the backstab and ambush on the main bar that gets overwritten by stealth and/or shadow dance so if I was unstealthed it’d have backstab up and then in stealth/dance it’d be ambush.

Don’t think you really need a macro for this unless you want to macro in other things. Not sure if the stance modifier works for rogues, but can try it.

You technically can, but you shouldn’t. There’s a slight delay on shadow dance so if you press your macro at the wrong time you can waste your first GCD of dance casting backstab instead of shadowstrike.

Edit: You might be talking about classic so ymmv.

Key bind the same keys to Ambush and Backstab in the same spot and it will flip … like 1 in stealth and 1 in non stealth
