Just wondering because I know you can go Ret and still heal dungeons leveling up and it’s supposedly much faster.
I’m wondering if it’s possible to level as Holy. The idea of being an epic healer at low levels appeals to me
Also I know I’m gonna get a lot of “you can play whatever you want” and I appreciate that but I’m just more wondering if it’s gonna be ok to level or tedious as hell.
You can level without spending a single point in your talent tree.
But it will be slower than leveling using the Ret talents, I believe.
Not really enough talents early on to justify slowing yourself down quest-wise. I’d go ret till 40 or 50 then swap to holy, pally is just such a low speed leveling class-help yourself as much as ya can. Holy at 60 is great though 
Yes you can level as holy. If you pick up consecrate and carry two sets of gear, it is doable. You will also be able to take on multiple mobs while leveling and have great survivability.
No - if you put a point into Holy, the game actually prevents you from leveling at all. Your XP gets locked and you can’t gain it until you remove all points.

Well if you do it off the bat, you won’t know any different. But compared to the other 2 it sucks. But definitely WAY less stressful trying to run dungeons at or below level while leveling up.
Honestly, if you carry a set of strength gear with you for leveling, it’s not bad at all.
I’m leveling as holy, at level 41 right now. 31 holy 1 prot at the moment. Yes it is possible. It will be miles slower than playing a mage or hunter, but you can take on multiple enemies at a time without too much difficulty (especially after you get seal of wisdom).
I carry two sets of gear at all times. One is high armor, strength and stamina, and the other is high int and plus healing. Go with the best 2 hander that you can get for your strength set until you get seal of wisdom, and then switch to sword and shield after that point. This allows you to maintain consecrate and holy shock spam without going out of mana, by using the seal/judge wisdom combo for massive mp regen.

My friend is holy paly and when he solos where’s mail and 2 handed weapon dose pretty high damage
Basically, you can level any class of any sort naked through the entire game.
It just depends on whether you care how long it takes.
My buddy I made while leveling is doing essentially this. He’s got the lvl 20 mace (which is super good by the way) and working towards holy shock. Unless I’m getting crits on my warrior. Which isn’t super often even specced into Fury for low levels with a 2h, he’s holding aggro from me while we quest.
It’s more consistent damage reliant than Ret with it’s Seal. But you get the added bonus of being more effective in dungeon healing, with just less solo mob damage for quests. Which to me is a great tradeoff to be effective at both for low levels.
if you go about 15 into holy you’ll be able to heal any dungeon easily with int/spr gear. dump the rest into ret after that and then you can dps as well pretty well

Lvl 41 here, i went holy from the start, the amount of health time and mana you save from 70% spell push bacl is amazing. You definitely level slower but not by a large amount, but you can take on multiple mobs at once easy and still have hp and mana to spare.
Level 41 here also. I hardly ever go oom or need to stop to eat. Makes questing a bit more quicker without all the stops.

You can! And this is an RPG, if you like the idea of being an epic healer at low level, then play that role in this game :). I’d encourage you to play what you like.
I personally do not optimize all my choices for being the fastest at leveling. Rather I do things that fit with my character. I’m on Grobbulus so roleplaying is a big part of what I like to do.
I lvled a pally as holy back in vanilla, was my first main… I think it took me around 26 /played days…
