I dont know why but you blizzard seem to be in love with these “run out of melee” mechanics. Its lame, its annoying, and its stupid. Apply more brain power and think of something else, ok?
Let’s have the ranged run out of range
It’s still a lot better for us than casters in most cases. We can DPS on the move and a lot of mechanics we have to move out of don’t cover the entire boss, or are directional. We can just sidestep and keeping swinging away.
I’m more sympathetic when an encounter requires chasing a target around, but a lot of ‘get out of melee’ stuff often still lets melee keep whacking away at whatever they need to be whacking away at, or also requires ranged to move which is usually much more costly for them as well.
As my friend put it years ago: “Please let me put the boss on /follow.”
Others have already said it… most of these mechanics don’t actually force you to run out of melee at all, just reposition a little bit… casters have it way worse because of all the continuous shuffle mechanics preventing them from standing still long enough to cast their spells. Imagine if using any melee skill rooted you in place and took 2.6-4seconds to wind up…
Well since you asked nicely…
So you dont play the game?
I play the game.
I dislike both, stop making me move my character so much! Just let me stand there and heal, and everyone else take more damage but not enough to die.
The same weird people who like overly complex rotations would complain if you didn’t have to move anymore.
Those people are only having fun if they are proving that they are more skilled, or better than you. I say complicate exactly 4 specs to the brim, affliction, feral, preservation, and brewmaster, and then tune those specs to be hot garbage so nobody else feels bothered to play them (already so close). We will see who is actually the best WoW player, in melee, ranged, heal, and tank! The parsers will have to compete with each other on those 4 specs depending on their preferred role.
So, you want tank and spank fights?
I understand why they have more ground mechanics and they have done a much better job this season making things able to be clearly seen.
My only complaint this season is that, to me, the saw blades in Floodgate are somehow not very obvious and that in Rookery there’s too many mehanics where a boss will stay in place casting a big bad attack you can’t stand in or you take damage / will die and it makes playing a CD dependent spec like Sub rogue frustrating to play
BM hunters can execute their complete rotation on the move. Zero hard casts.
Do with that what you will.
Completely false. It ‘looks’ like this is the case, but it isn’t. BM has a very very close bound to their pets. If they begin to move after the pets have been sent in, the pets get a debuff called ‘separation anxiety’. This causes a massive DPS loss.
It’s hidden though; you can’t see it. But look closely at the pets next time you see a BM hunter moving. If you see the pets flipping back and forth in place like they are looking one way and then the opposite, you are seeing ‘separation anxiety’ in action.
What are you talking about?
I was the guild’s top DPS last season, and never had any issues.
Holy sweet Sunday…
LOL don’t be all upset.
Warriors don’t have pets so you guys wouldn’t really get it.
I’de rather than than some of very fast ground effects this season. Some of them you can’t even finish your cast
Must be rough actually having to deal with downtime…just like basically every ranged class.
