Can you just let us catch up our cloak to max?

I don’t see the problem in letting me spam visions or nzoth kills to catch up my cloak resistance on alts as fast as I please. I am the type of player that likes having powerful alts, not random alts that I log onto here and there for mount farming.

Currently, a fresh 120 can get 56 cloak resistance in the first week, while the max is 86. With a catch up rate of +3 resistance per week, new alts are effectively 10 weeks behind.

Is 30 corruption resistance that significant? Well, that’s 2 gushing wounds so you tell me. The time gating is just such a major let down for no real good reason honestly.

Let’s remove the weekly lockout on raids, too, so people can farm the bosses as much as they want. Heck, you can already do that with M+ so why not for raids, too?

Isn’t the compensation for having higher ilvl gear from Mythic raids not enough to make the no lockout m+ even ?

That’s their excuse, but not really.

The weekly chest gives the same ilvl as Mythic raids. You might say “but it’s only once per week”… how many items do you get from Nyalotha per week? One, if you’re lucky.

Also keep in mind that there’s a big difference between “once per week” (for raids) and “an infinite number of times” which is what M+ is.

I could see them adding one for each mask level you clear. So you could get 7 in a given week if you killed n’zoth, did a full clear and then did full clears for each mask.

But the best rewards come out of M+ only once a week – from the M+ chest in Dazar’alor/Boralus. Otherwise, you’re getting gear that’s only slightly above Heroic raid level at best.

makes ZERO sense gating cloak catch up

like i cant think of a single reason that would ever be beneficial or make sense to anyone

Okay. How many of the “best rewards” do you get from clearing Mythic Nyalotha?

Imagine gating the cloak so much that getting to level 120 right now on an alt will take you 9 weeks to catch up with those that have the current maximum corruption resistance on their cloak.

Very good System 10/10

Imagine gating Nyalotha to a weekly lockout so that gearing up will take 3 months to catch up with those that have been doing it since January.

Imagine playing an alt.

Sounds more like you don’t want to PLAY your alt, you want to fast forward to the end so you DON’T play your alt.

LOLLL imagine arguing against a buff to catch-up mechanic for something as small as this.

There are weekly lockouts everywhere in this game, and they’re all for the same reasons.

The only exception is M+, which is conspicuous by being different. And seems to have spoiled people.

Oooh there’s weekly lockouts everywhere. I guess that excludes visions, dungeons, pet battles, pvp etc. Bruh get real, there’s no reason why cores should have a lockout, just let people try to enjoy this garbage patch.

In terms of your final argument if the power gain is so insignificant you’d not care enough to bother to post.

Do you have any idea how boring and demotivating it is to repeat the same long prosess as you did with your main, but on your alt?

That’s means your alt is gonna have to farm for 9 weeks to get on par with the other players, excluding azerite essences, titan residdum, corrupted mementos, and both the major and minor assault.

That’s way too much boring repetitive stuff to do compared to other expansions.

And don’t even get me started on PVP where you get roflstomped by Corruption effects and people barely playing their classes.

The power gain is significant enough that it feels bad to play an alt at a high level. Also the cloak will not be maxed out until September so the gap between alts and caught up characters will continue to grow if the catch up rate stays the same.

I was making a joke cause OP made as his final argument that alotting 30 more corruption isn’t much of a thing.

could not have said it better myself, the longer this goes, the more horrible the catchup is.
