My god. It happens. It always happens. Relax. Breathe. Sleep. Whatever. You’re not entitled to a refund. This launch is the same is always is and there’s plenty of people on various servers, some of my friends included that have been playing with minor lag at best. Byproduct of however many people are trying to log and play on a new xpac. Shouldn’t even need said.
Yes wow is old. But I’m sure if the fix was easy it’d be done. None of you know what is required to make this operational and I’m positive if blizz could avoid it they would. Why would they want to listen to all the crying?
I’m watching TV. I generally hate launch day on all MMOs. I took a break and decided to see how the QQ was. Looks like a normal MMO expansion pack to me.
You all have fun fighting the Que, server lag, and Dc.
No not gonna relax. It should NEVER happen!!! Ever!!! Rather WoW just end then see them release trash like this. Blizz should just stop making these games if they can’t finish them. Hope they face legal action and go bankrupt for their evil greed.
There is literally no excuse for this type of neglect and rushing this expansion. This is a self inflicted problem that Blizz keeps passing onto the customers. DF is not going to win back the millions of players that left in SL when on launch day they can’t even play.
No… It doesn’t always happen. Didnt happen when Legion launched. Didn’t happen when Battle for Azeroth launched. Not sure about Shadowlands since I didn’t actually play that expansion. But the launch today was horrible, and you’d think after Overwatch 2s crappy launch that they’d take extra precautions to prevent this from happening, but I guess not.
You’ve probably heard the military saying ‘No plan survives contact with the enemy’; this is a lot like that. Internal testing probably helps quite a bit, but there are most likely things that just can’t happen in controlled settings and responses to extreme real-world strain. This is my thinking at any rate.
I remember when Legion went out, they thought ahead and put a bunch of copies of Khadgar all over to start things off (at least I think it was legion–it was when the no-fly zone was over the npc and would dismount people really high in the air and they left all his twin brothers out for Ages afterward). But then all those Khadgar’s would funnel people into that itty bitty room in the very middle of Legion-era Dal waiting for a port to become active.
Horde, Alliance, all in a phone booth. It was pretty legendary x)
Do you have any idea what it takes to fix? Don’t you think a multi billion dollar company would utilize its tech resources for its most iconic game to not listening to whining if they could? I mean you act like it’s the equivalent of just putting more RAM in a pc or something lol.
You never do. Don’t play tanks in arena.
It did actually. And it’s fine now. The world is saved.
Must have been your server or your threshold for horrible is very low.
I didn’t play wow at all today because I had things to do and I knew I play tonight.
Logged in around 5:40 pm (est) at 6 pm there was a glitch and the boat didn’t come but at 6:13 pm I was questing in waking shores. Played just over 2 hours smooth as glass. No lag no drops just very fun time.
I logged to eat then couldn’t get back on and I saw the authentication issue “that stinks” I thought…went back to the show I was watching with my dinner.
30-ish minutes later log back in play again for another 2 hours.
Yeah it was horrible, for shame blizzard for shame (rolls eyes)
People that freak this much over a game launch …they must melt down when RL hands them an issue.
Tbh this is one of the smoothest launches I’ve experienced.
Played a solid 10 hours… feeling a little guilty lol. But yea, I played 10 hours, nearly straight.
Zero issues other than the slightly shaky boat wait when it first went live.
Other than that, no major lag. Plenty of mobs to kill even though there were countless people.
Easily the smoothest launch for me to date. Sucks other people are having issues, but lets all be happy it’s not a MoP scenario rofl.
I should have known the forums would blow up. I love the in-between periods where the regulars just have fun debating, helping each other out, laughing.
