Right… it’s like cornering the market on out of date raisins. It makes no sense.
Nope, go ahead and start that monopoly.
You can buy out markets or items. It’s super risky and usually prob doesn’t work out as well as you would think. Especially region-wide now, it’s a lot harder to do and you’ll start getting undercut immediately.
Shoot… do me a favor and buy out all my auctions. I place them 10 gold under the next to lowest price. Corner the market and resell goods made by Gutshredda!
I was banned in Vanilla for cornering the fish market. I basically fished, bought and sold every oily black mouth, savory delight and stonescale on my server for 2 months. I ended up with over 300g at level 42.
I was banned because of market manipulation. Granted this was almost 20 years ago and it seems like they have taken a far more lenient stance on both bans and what is allowed in the AH.
I am thinking so. I’m sure Hasbro has some kind of protection that prevents a 3rd party from making money from their product without explicit rights to do so. Copy Write Infringement is serious stuff
Yeah, I remember some bans in early wow, usually around alchemy not cooking or blacksmith materials. Just wasn’t sure if anything similar had happened recently.
Again the posted green or any item isn’t for you it’s for character gold transfers. If you’re mad about it well that’s tough.
it’s their way of playing the game…the AH IS their game.
I can’t afford to do this, lol…but I understand it.
Amount of comments on this thread just show how oblivious the general population is, on how the AH works, as you prob all buy wow tokens for your gold source.
There is no monopoly, if some normie doesn’t know the transmog market, and think it’s just a green item, and they list it for couple gold, someone who actually farms gold in game will buy it up and re list it at the proper transmog value.
it’s that simple…and it’s legal not bannable to profit off others that list things for cheap, it’s basic economics.
I am reporting you to the FDA.
Noticing something with a rare or cool transmog that was underpriced is not the same thing as buying every single item in a certain category and artificially inflating the prices
Buying items to resell is an intended end game pillar. What Blizzard doesn’t like is when you do it with full automation. In my experience 61-66 greens don’t really move. Level 60 greens though, boy do they ever. No one is price fixing the level 60 greens, they are just legitimately moving in high volumes at a high price. I can’t keep them in stock and I am pulling them up from ZM still daily on 6 chars. People get kicked out of timewalking at 60, and then boost their ilvl a bit to survive DF dungeons and then they don’t need to shop for greens again after level 60.
I very very rarely ever buy green gear, except in classic I still do, but I figure go out and quest, you will get what you need eventually and you level up so quickly it is not worth it.
Some players will buy a few entry level greens to get a head start in DF if they didn’t have decent gear from SL. Or maybe a fill in piece here and there as you level to 70. I don’t see this buyout to be a smart one as the only ones with any real value are level 60. At 61 you get some nice blues plus whatever quest gear you got by then.
But… there are those that try and min/max at all times, so it may make a few bucks
The thing about monopolies on a free market is that they don’t work. You can easily punish the monopolist by constantly undercutting him and forcing him to buy a ton of overpriced stuff in order to preserve his monopoly. That is exactly what happens on the real world.
In order for monopolies to work on the real world you need state intervention to keep the competition down.
This is actually very much against the TOS you agreed to.
What you need to do is go to Dalaran and ask a guard to direct you to the Better Business Bureau of Greater Azeroth.
When you get there you will be asked to fill out form 1D10 part T, most likely in triplicate, however if you would like to fill out a form for poor business practices in an adjoining realm (Argus, Draenor, etc) you will need a separate triplicate form for that agency as well.
If your guard is unable to direct you to the Better Business Bureau of Greater Azeroth you may be in the wrong timeline of Dalaran. You want, specifically, their Hillsbrad location.
If you cannot locate transit to their Hillsbrad location, a mage may be able to teleport you there.
Wouldn’t spend that on purple let alone a green item lol.
That’s why I was so surprised, and even a bit agitated. I didn’t pay that much for a lariat on my main
