Can a horde and alliance do a 2s team together? or even on bgs? i want to try alliance and all my friends are horde.

Yes, now you can. But for random BGs the person that formed the group is what desides which faction you will queue on. The opposite faction group member will be have thier race (including racials) mercenary swapped when they join the BG.

It depends. I think human normally mercenary swaps to orc, unless there is a racial limitation in place. Like my orc monk mercenaries to dwarf instead of human because human can’t be monk? My orc priest mercenaries to human priest. I’m not going to go over them all and I’m no mercenary expert so perhaps google it.
But remember faction is based on who starts the group. Even if you pass lead it will not switch. You have to reform usually. If it’s an Alliance that started the group then as long as they remain leader they can mercenary queue the group as Horde. So having an Alliance start it makes it a little easier to swap sides.
