Can you collect Grotto Netherwing Drake without Dragonflight expansion?

If you complete July’s Trading Post and get the reward, does it get added to your collection like previous mount rewards EVEN IF YOU DONT HAVE DRAGONFLIHT EXPANSION, being that it is a dragonriding mount?

I would imagine it’s added to your mount collection, but you wouldn’t be able to use it without the dragonriding skill. I may be wrong, but that seems like a reasonable guess.

Points to yes, but you wouldn’t be able to use it because no dragonriding as of now can be used outside of DF zones.

Why not ? you just need to fill the bar. The activities in the bar do not all represent stuff from DF

You should be able to get the mount, even if it’s a Dragon Riding mount. Then the mount would (not) work just like it would today on a lower level character that does not have Dragon Riding skill yet.

A level 1 alt has a zillion mounts they can’t use.

All this in preparation for a year or two when the new expansion hits, and “everyone” get Dragonflight, just like they have all of the other past expansions.

Save the money, wait 2 years, play Dragonflight when its “free”.

I got a question, why don’t you have Dragonflight, OP? Not judging, just usually makes a little more logical sense.

I mean there really isn’t anything to do at level 60 besides low level farming of tmog and the usual.

Yes you should. People can use it later when the next expansion releases or if they put dragonriding into old world.

It’s the Trading Post. No one is locked out of the Trading Post.

After a long long hiatus, I reactivated to see if I can do Trading post without xpac, and try out the new talent system. Leveling alts. (Still don’t have Invincible) Really liking paladin right now. Just chilln. Nothing too sweaty. But this Netherdrake really interested me. They were my favorite in TBC and always thought they deserved an update. I hoped I’d be able to collect it now then when I do get the expansion, it will be there waitn. Looks like that be the case. :+1:

That kind of doesn’t answer the question as to why you’re not doing Dragonflight.

Or is this a “I’m getting around to it” sort of ordeal?
