Can we get the war of thorns story back for BFA? just have the mounts removed from the quest if its too big a deal to keep them in it but since you are currently starting new player in BFA, at least give them the whole context?
p.s. if the pre-shadowlands event has major lore in it as well please blizzard do not remove it afterwards, keep it as part of SL as a whole.
Yea I don’t get this. You can redo the legion prequel with that npc in Violet citadel. Can’t we get something like that for bfa?
Agreed. I get that they want pre-patch events to be limited time experiences, but if so they should limit themselves to things like the Legion pre-patch invasions, not put major chunks of lore in scenarios which will be around for a month or less, and then lost to the mists of WoWiki.
Yup I think they really mishandle the quests and story in this game.

“You didn’t buy BFA on launch so you don’t deserve to play it!” Same excuse I hear when referring to the mage tower in Legion. Basically paying the same price for the expansion as everyone else with content removed.
Quests and story as a whole for BfA have been mishandled massively…large chunks of story are locked behind iLvl requirements and hidden objectives with absolutely zero guidance…
Bring back the MoP cape quest while we are at it! Heck I have a title that proves I did it during MoP, if someone wants the cape they should be able to use it!

I didn’t. Because I left before Legion came out and only came back because my friend wanted me to play with her. Still does not change the fact content should not be taken out just because you were late to the party. Would you enjoy it if you bought a game used and content was missing from it and the developer just said “Well, you didn’t buy it on launch, so too bad.” Most people wouldn’t like that I would think.
They should really stop removing story and lore.

They should bring back all the pre-launch/patch scenarios, not the events that actually gave rewards though. A bit of work in the case of WoD since they integrated rewards into it, but things like the original Scourge Invasion shouldn’t come back.
You mean the broken shore? That’s because it wasn’t the prepatch, it was the expac intro. Legion prepatch was legion invasions. Bfa prepatch was war of thorns, bfa intro was battle of lorderon.

Tbf, mage tower in legion lasted for the last half of the expac. If you bought legion you had every opportunity to obtain the challenge rewards before they were gone. Prepatches on the other hand are always one time and then gone things. There was nothing particularly special about the war of thorns, aside from the lore it revealed which a short google search can now tell you. The content consisted of three short questlines that released over 3 weeks time.
The Legion Invasion was the pre-launch event, but there was some stuff involving moving Dalaran and going to Karazhan that I’m not sure can be played anymore.
Whether it lasted for the last half of the expac in regards to Legion or pre-patch material is irrelevant. Mage towers should still be there so people can do them if they wish as should the War of Thorns scenario if they so wish. War of Thorns was a pivotal moment in BFA and they just removed it despite BFA being heavily based around it.

It’s actually fun to re-run Firelands and work on getting the legendary staff. As for Mage Tower, they could remove the artifact appearance for all I care since obviously we gotto protect some fragile egos. But why are they removing an entire feature entirely?
