Dead is never really dead in WoW.
Was just doing the Emerald Nightmare raid for some Xmog and thought "Can Xavius make an appearance in 10.2?

It might be possible. He was turned into a demon after all. Which is how he returned in the first place after he was killed at the end of Stormrage. However the end of the raid sees him as a Night Elf corpse, instead of either his bulky satyr tree form or a regular satyr.
Plus I like to imagine that N’zoth ate his soul after failing him again. I kinda wished that Xavius made a cameo of sort in Ny’alotha. Maybe he was Xanesh’s prior sub before Azshara was forced into the role.

While it’s possible that Xavius might not be dead (the fact that Thros is part of the Nightmare would suggest that there’s an avenue for him to return), it’s unlikely he’d make a return in 10.2, at least in any major capacity. Much of the patch has been datamined, and the focus largely centers around Fyrakk and his forces.
I could be wrong though! Given that the World Soul Saga is going to have a heavy emphasis on the Void, and he was a servitor of it, it’s entirely possible they’ll tee something up for his return.

If he is somehow alive again I hope he just goes and lives in a hovel somewhere. He should know he will just be beat… again.

Never question the lengths people will go to in their self-delusions to justify a particular mindset. If he’s alive he’s probably in his hole angrily screaming about some vague “someone” who is to blame for him failing yet again…

Whatever they do it would be nice if we even got one more raid for 10.3. Make it 1 or 2 bosses. Hell it does not have to be uber complicated. Could be a loot pinata for all I care.
Rift of Aln?
We kill Xavius in the Rift in the Emerald Nightmare raid. The Nightmare is done, gone. N’zoth pulled the plug on it.
Yeah, this was what came to mind for me. Whatever he became the Rift of Aln was his Twisting Nether right? Killing him there means he’s dead for real.
