Maybe I’m wrong and there are some weapons that can be turned into wands, but as far as I know, we keep getting VERY COOL wand transmogs… But we can never use them.
We can’t transmog anything into wands and let’s be real, nobody use them since they’re never BiS. I don’t even see the point on adding such cool things for wands on the trading post (specially because a lot of them look like maces) if most of us will never be able to use them. Maybe maces or offhands into wands. But right now it’s kind of a shame and a waste of potential.

Blizzard made magic classes to use staves, wands, off hands, daggers, once handed swords and maces.
People mostly prefer staves for some reason, and I see everything else as confusing as why would a mage have a sword, dagger, or mace.
There should be a least one class to just have a wand and off hand so those things can be actually used in a class fantasy.
They are making wands look dreadfully bulky and and big when it should be small and light weighted looking.

Because an upgraded staff is an immediate upgrade, rather than hoping to pull the upgrade for the other hand?
Going from a staff to mainhand + OH almost always requires downgrading what you didn’t just loot, or waiting until it drops.

We need weapon transmog restrictions to go. If your class can equip it, just let it do it.
As a melee class I can swap one weapon type for many others and that’s kinda unfair for casters.
And if the excuse of the limitation is “weapon animation”, 2 things:
- Casters rarely use their weapons to cast (which is a shame!)
- We can ALREADY bypass this limitation as transmogging into the Legion artifact category

Back in the old days, wands were to give the caster a method of dealing damage while allow natural mana regen in combat, and some would use it as a pulling method to save mana for spells. And they were a separate equip item as well.
Now, outside of mythic raid/mythic+, the odds of you running out of mana before health is practically non-existent. So either the weapon slot needs retired and the appearances converted to 1h swords and 1h maces, or they need to be mogged into anything the caster can use. At all.

UGH, there are so many cute wand transmogs… I understand not being able to transmog a dagger to a wand, but a mace should be able to transmog into a wand. I can transmog a mace to a sword or polearm, so why can’t we do mace to wand?
Having to craft a new weapon if you find a new weapon that matches your transmog better sucks… Especially cause we only get a full spark every 2 weeks.
Main plus offhand should be competitive to a staff every time. The only choice should come down to aesthetics. Maybe someday. Until then, I’d love to be able to transmog a wand over a mace or sword in the instances where it works.
