It seems to spawn around water, but man oh man is it hard to find. I get more Writhebark by a large margin.
Not a lot of people herbing Hochenblume, and it spawns in the same locations along the water that the Bubble Poppy does. If we can get more people to just herb everything, it will keep the respawns turning over, so giving a more consistant chance at Bubble Poppy to spawn.
It’s also the Herbalist turn in weekly this week so it is going to be really picked over.
I find more of that than Writhebark and Saifrage put together
But Hochenblume is 12-1 vs all others
I pluck everything I see but it’s no use. They either need to rethink the spawns or give people a reason to pick the Hochenblume.
I’ve played an herbalist since Pandaria. Only time I’ve ever felt it was a waste of time.
Where do you herb then? I’m trying to herb mass amounts of bubble poppy but I’m having trouble keeping up with my demands of it.
One caveat to begin with - I work nights, so much of my gathering comes after midnight EST. Usually from 2-4 AM. Your mileage may vary, so to speak.
Generally, I start out from Wingrest. I start out in the swampy area to the south. Then Follow the river all the way around. I probably don’t take the same route all the time because the river branches a couple different times. It’s easy because you can travel for a long ways with minimal stops.
At Dragonscale camp, I head into the plains. Kind of annoying since it’s a big height climb. But you end up on a wide river. I follow the river south and then west. I break off where it heads south again to do a couple loops around the Shady Sanctuary (looking fro Writhebark.
After that, I hit the river where I left it and head south towards the lake. After circling it I head into Azure Span. I’m primarily flying around the wooded areas here - again looking for Writhebark. But there are several river areas here too. It doesn’t always look like it because some are frozen, but it is still technically a river or a lake.
I generally don’t do the other area because the height differentials make it unproductive. There are still some water areas here, but you end up spending a lot of time on the ground.
Doing this at nights can be hit or miss. Sometimes all I am doing is plucking Hochenblume. Some nights can be productive. You never know.
For every 100 Hochenblume I get 10-20 of the other herbs, should be at least getting 30-40 for every 100 hochenblume, its ridiculous
Lucky. I think I’ve hit 150 hochenblume with only one saxifrage over the weekend.
Same with mining. No one is picking the basic spawns.
Yeah it’s kinda meh that you can get a bunch of hochenblume and nothing to do with it. If you’re working a route, you’re even less incentivized to pick it since the respawn might turn into something good that someone else will pick. It’s a shame, really.
I’m having the same problem getting Bubble Poppy, the hardest of them all imho. So I’ve started putting points into the Poppy tree assuming it meant more of them. Almost maxed now and still getting singles and two’s most of the time. Am I misunderstanding what skill points do?
Skill points increase the average rank of the herbs you get, not the quantity. If you want to get more herbs per node try and get more finnesse (via knowledge, profession gear and Phial).
When you pick a node the respawn will be RANDOM. So if all you pick are the “good” nodes… over time ALL of the nodes in a zone will slowly transition to HoHumBlume. If you want the “good” stuff you need to pick everything you see.
I pick at off hours as well. Sometimes it seems to take about 30 to 40 minutes of flying around to turn over a zone. When it does I start to see a more random mix of herbs and the percentage of things like Bubble Poppy and Saxifrage goes up.
Same thing happens with mining and Serevite Ore.
