Can we talk about the bird and the bees

in ZM … why are they so hostile? I swear they would follow you inside the Raid Instance if you were going that way

And the flowers
And the trees
And the moon up above
And a thing called loooooove

They’re wasps, not bees. Bees are bros. Wasps are not.

Sorry. They/Them then

To be fair, when aren’t bees hostile in video games? That’s a staple.

Depends on the bee and your activity. Wasps on the other hand…there’s a reason Stephen King used them in the Shining. They’re hostile and don’t rip out their insides when they sting.

Flying mobs have pretty much always had a (seemingly) longer leash range. But I assume they’re more likely to aggro vertically than mobs in previous zones because of whatever change the devs made to pathing in ZM to allow teleports/leaps to be more effective (and not give that “path not available” error).

They make honey and pollenate flowers. And they have delightful fuzzy butts. We can forgive the occasional sting.

Be glad they’re not “Murder Hornets”.

To this day, I’ve never been stung by a bee (knock on wood), because as long as you don’t mess with the ones in my area: honeybees and bumblebees, they’ll leave ya alone. Wasps and a horse-fly (bite) have got me good.

Most bees just leave you alone I think. Last time I got stun was about 8 years ago. It had found its way into my car while I was driving and decided to settle on my leg. After I parked I reached forward to turn the keys and my arm brushed over it and it stung the underside of my arm. Poor thing was just panicked. To find itself suddenly whisked away from the vicinity of its hive and then have a big thing almost smush it. Of course it’s going to react.

That’s what I meant by the bee and activity, if it’s threatened, the bee will defend itself or its home. Plus, if you’re allergic, doesn’t really matter if it’s one sting or many. When I worked in a paint store years ago, I learned a ton from a guy that bought paint for his bee-hives. He gathered some delicious honey.

And, as this guy demonstrated, a lot of folks confuse hornets with bees. Murder hornets are not bees.

However, africanized bees will straight up murder you if you get into their territory and threaten the hive.

I don’t know, but that zone would make Alfred Hitchcock giggle like a loon.

There are too many birds and wasps in ZM. I’m constantly in combat with them as I fly around the zone.
