When you’re solo, he really doesn’t need to cast Sleep Canister just in time to put you back to sleep after you wake up from the last one he cast (without giving you a GCD to even cast something instant).

Otherwise you’re gonna be dead in the water the whole fight.
Mind control and infinite stuns/impairments should never occur when soloing content though.

I decided to try it again just for the hell of it, and somehow his abilities got desynced while I was fighting him…so I could actually get off a cast SW:P and push him to the next phase. And by “fighting him” I mean “perpetually stunned while he punched me in the face.”
Don’t expect a change less you feed it to the suggestion tab directly, as this is sort of something that they don’t pay attention to due to it being old content.
Same thing goes for Mythic illidan though.
Ya, that is another one that is a pain too.
I mean, they changed Hellfire Assault and Gorefiend to be solo-able. So there’s always hope.
No idea what they’re going to do about mythic Eonar, though.
That’s what I meant that you need to report it to the suggestion tab in-game so they can see it. They look at it more than you think, as they’ve changed things in the past I have submitted there as well.

Was this changed during Legion or during BFA?
Because this post is about changing a raid encounter from 1 expansion behind current… which is unlikely until Legion raids are 11+ levels below us (or whatever the post level-squish equivalent is) and they change mechanics to make them soloable under the legacy raid buff rules.
It seems they’ve changed his sleep debuff…to now put you to sleep for 20 seconds! So you don’t even break out of it before you’re put back in…absolutely impossible to solo…even on normal 10 man

it’s beyond ridiculous if you got a bunch of hp he takes you hostage forever ; even if you alt-f4 and comeback hes still doing his thing.
gonna have to convince someone to come with me everytime i guess. lol

They may or may not do a mechanic nerfing pass for legion content in shadowlands, since it’ll be 2 expansions past.

I am so hopeful that they will make the Eonar fight shorter and easier to solo. That would be great 
Legion raids are not supposed to be soloable until shadowlands release. Just like every expansion before.

I soloed that nightmare forest place. Forget the name. I was bored. I forget the level, Might have been normal or heroic. I doubt i did mythic. I went into tomb of Sargeras… and that was normal and the second boss did things and reset. So…
So wait for shadowlands. Raids aren’t tuned for solo until it’s 2 expansions passed
